@@murraydixon4231 fair enough. But diplo, at least, is still relevant and working with modern artists.

@@murraydixon4231 I will say the Kenny Beats album was surprisingly great, mostly instrumental album. That was prob first hip hop producer album in a while I felt reminded me of this era.

It's originally Flower Dance by Michel Gonet, which was then sampled in Off The Record by Promoe.

Does anyone know the song at 3:57?
@boatshowradio6 жыл бұрын
The drums sound like J-Kwon - Tipsy (sampled from Queen's We Will Rock You) followed by a vocal sample from Lloyd Banks' verse in G-Unit's Stunt 101

This is known as the 'Golden Era' of Hip Hop. The focus was not so much on baking soda, and/or Jordans. True soulful emotions where delivered in time & discrete delivery. RJD2 reached the masses via obscure video games & prolific commercial ads, while being notorious for mad-furious turn-table skills across all genres. Diplo reached the masses via obscure hip hop instrumental beats that covered a vast array of 1940's-2000 samples. Diplo (as we met him in 2005), is a musician that traverses all genres of music. Diplo's styles encompass all things music, from every recorded generation. RJD2 ++ Diplo +incalcuable

nicholas abston Except he sold out around 2012, and it has been downhill ever since. This mix is still tops though.
@realNikoCousin9 жыл бұрын
+Joel Crookston you mean diplo sold out? I agree things aren't the same as a decade earlier but I'd rather say the fans caught up with him. I too long for more pre-florida mixes, but diplo constantly puts the underground on map with his diplo & friends mixes. He does seem to understand how music & listeners evolve, though yes, I would also love to hear more dirty vowel mixes.
