Just ruptured mine. Within a week i was put in a cast for 3 days, then Vacoped boot and had a scan all in 6 days pn the NHS. Scan showed full thickness rupture, gap is 4.7mm closes to 4mm, is this an operation or conservative treatment? Ive had 2 ACL ops and 7 MCL ops on my now..good leg.

I've been in a boot with wedges for 2 weeks. 1- Will I benefit from starting the Vacoped tomorrow? 2- Do I need to wear the boot while I'm in bed?

Very informative and excellent presentation! I just ordered two of the Vacoped boots for two patients of mine in Colorado. I have never seen that boot before this presentation.

I have myotendinous junction full rupture 3mm gap, and I have been told that I dont need surgery. At 37:48 you said that full rupture in musculat tenderness junction should be treated with surgery, so which treatment is right? Surgery or not and why? Thanks

Hi, I recently ruptured mine. But I have a 4.7mm gap and closes to 4mm. The radiologist said it needs surgery as it does close. Not seeing the registrar until next week. But I think I will insist of an op to get it together properly. Cant seem to get a decent answer. Can't afford to mess about as I need to get back to work etc. How are you doing now?

Hi! I ruptured 3.5 weeks ago and have been in the boot with wedges. Would it be worthy to switch to the vacoped boot now? Or is it a lost cause at this point 😢

Good afternoon! I ruptured almost two weeks ago, 2.5.24.. and they had put me in a black aircast with 3 wedges as well... My question is, did you continue with it or did you switch your boot and wedges out?.
@jackg52789 ай бұрын
Hang in there yo! I stuck with the air cast. If I could do it over though, I would go vacoped! I’m about 7 months out, healing up nicely 🙏🏻 trust the process and stay positive 🔋

@@jackg5278 Thank You! Greatly appreciate it🙏 glad you're almost out of the dark! Do you feel your tendon healed correctly with the Foam Wedges? Them being so bulky..
@jackg52789 ай бұрын
Thanks! It’s been a journey. It’s hard to say honestly. I asked my ortho for ultrasound imaging to see if they felt like it healed long or anything like that and they said no they can just tell based off ability to do single leg calf raise. They also told me not to get vacoped. If you haven’t come across that yet, down the road, that becomes your gold standard. The single leg calf raise. My advice would be to attack the small stuff rehab you are allowed to do early on. It’s hella boring and I wasn’t as disciplined around it as I should have been, but you won’t regret it!

@@jackg5278 thank You! I've been training my right leg with the exercises to get that one stronger and be ready for my left when it's time to do so. Thank you for your encouragement! Flippin' helps a lot when one has gone through it!

I cant wear the vacoped, because it Hurts very much on my foot, so i switched to another one.

Hi! Can I ask what boot did you use instead of the vacoped? Did you use the heel raise aka achilles wedge? If so, which one specifically? Thanks!
@stihlnz2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for putting this on you tube. The VACO-PED was very comfortable compared to the black boot with wedges. I think a mandatory idea is providing 2 wool inner boots so you can wash them daily for comfort and hygiene reasons.

This is very helpful and great to hear advice backed by data and experience over 10 years. also the fact that athletes are being treated was my biggest question, often articles refer to 'return to full movement' this is great but for someone who is playing a lot of sports it's not just movement but return to high level of sports I was concerned with so this is reassuring to hear. Anne-Marie greatly appreciated - very well presented.
