This isn't 82t. On the bed is a J-1175 Terex rock crusher. It weighs a shade over 51t. So even with the trailer this isn't even 62t let alone 82. However it's still a good load for a 4x2.

The crusher itself weighs 120,000 pounds, add 40 for truck and trailer and it’s 160,000 total.

Having driven a scanny 143 many years ago i can attest to what a brilliant motor it was,when i retired i ended my HGV career driving a Scania Topline 480,but when i first started my HGV life my first wagon was an old Albion Reiver,no fancy sleepers in those days,but we were a different breed in those days.

My dad said before power steering sometimes you had to stand up in the cab to turn the wheel.
@nipper448 ай бұрын
@@leighjordine4031 your dad is 100%correct,at one time I drove an 8 legger for Allen's in Trafford Park and I had to stand up every time I had to go round a corner,and the lock was that bad more often than not I had to have a shunt to get it round.it was better than all the weight lifting exercises 🤣🤣🤣

I fully understand the weight distribution as I pulled heavy equipment for years with most of it in our Rocky Mountains. The axle debate might be geographical as here in the U. S. you won't find a single axle transporting that kind of weight.

That thing shouldn't be on the back roads/lanes,in the first place.PS.You can hear the "bridge cracking",as it moves up the second incline.

I just can't buy 82 tons on a single axle.
@MattiAntsuK8 ай бұрын
Its not like all the load is on that one rear axle, load is more centered on the trailer. Many timber trucks in Sweden and Finland in the 80's hauled up to 60 tons of timber with their 6x2 configs. Lifting that tag added most weight to the drive axle and boom you got grip for days. With just a search you can find multiple clips from Sweden or Finland spinning their tires on those older Scanias from early 2000's.

I'm not going to argue that she couldn't have had 82 ton on her back (because she didn't!!) but I will vehemently argue another point.... LONG LIVE DIESEL No other form of power will ever replace diesel in the trucks that keep the shelves stocked and the wheels of industry turning.

Illegal on the ground pressure I bet. Not illegal for Scania weight standards. Early 80's Scanias could haul 40 tons on just 1 axle.
