Wow that looks absolutley amazing from how it was at the start and most people would have binned it off but this proves just how well you can upcycle old radios and although they where and still are basic communications equpiment they are still alive after over 40 years of use.. Well done that man I’m now looking for a Concorde 2 to add to my own collection

Hi, i have a problem with akai am-u01 the problem is that when i press on mono both speakers plays music then balance is in middle but when i press stereo and i change balance to left side only left speakers plays but only the tweeter sounds and it disipare then i press on mono

the s meter on these radios and crt and most modern radios does my head in , my ham rigs and my older type cb radios show i have a s0 noise floor on 11m and i tried a crt 7900 and the v version and they show a s6 - 7

Been looking for a replacement switch ( contact reeds) for a Turner +2. I've scoured the planet and they must not exist. Is there a way to make a keying circuit out of a push button mic that could be fabricated to work with the push bar on the Turner?

I have got an AR7 from a garage sale a short ago. It worked quite well and it was very precise in frequency, but it needed a good cleaning and an electrolytics recap. After recapping I did the cleaning of the solderings side with alcohol and toothbrush, and after that an audio issue arose: the audio came and went away simply touching some components in the circuit, including touching the trimmer pots. At last, I redid the solderings around TR15 (D471) that feeds the channel display and all was fixed. That transistor becomes very warm and perhaps the repeated temperature variations in time had damaged some solderings. Very nice little rig, unfortunately not legal for use in Italy.
