Whistler could’ve carried the hedgehogs on his back. His feathers would’ve protected him from their quills.

when they were all saying “don’t panic” it reminded me of a scene from Bambie where the peafowls were hiding and one was trying not to panic but ended up panicking flying into the sky and getting shot

Honestly...nature is brutal. As sad as this was, they were weak. And unfit to survive. It was fate removing them in a merciful way.

One of the most frightening yet the saddest episodes. So true to life in many ways with poor animals getting killed on roads.

I remember crying my eyes out to this when I was about seven years old. What got me the most about this scene was even Mr Hare was crying when the hedgehogs got killed and from what I remember he always acted like he didn't care about any of the other animals up until this point.

This scene (well, basically all scenes did, but this one especially) taught me so many things as a kid in regards to road traffic, animals crossing the road and death. How many of us even consider or spare a single "oh dear" to a squished hedgehog on a busy road? This cartoon may be referred to as "messed up" or "not kid friendly". I was sad that they got so far just to die the same way most hedgehogs I'd see in my life, thus far, die. But you know what? Instead of needing therapy and being traumatised, like I'm sure most parents say their current angels will be from seek this. I learnt just what I'd consider basic responsibility as a human, building over animals homes. I see a hedgehog crossing the road, I guard them from traffic, pick them up is absolutely needed, and most of my friends question me about it, like its weird. I wish more shows like this were created and shown to the next generation and the generation after, because compassion needs to be taught and enhanced, cartoons like this are only traumatic if the parents act like it is. A freaking out parent is freaking out kid. I'm glad my mum introduced me to this show to educate me on what animals in my country (uk) go through, not just due to nanture, but also due to humans ourselves

2:48 Someone explain to me how relevant is this scene? The part when a girl in a car tells her parents that they are surrounded by animals and the parents gleefully throw garbage on the reel at the Farthing Wood animals to annoy them, is it to show humans as apathetic? Or are you foolishly ignorant that your actions can harm wildlife and the environment?

First thing: kids notice anything and everything, and usually tell someone around them about it. It was probably weird seeing so many animals together tbf. I'd probably be surprised seeing a fox with hares, rabbits, and hedgehogs together in the small strip of grass between motorways. If you notice, the mother reacts to the squirrels (aka, varmin) and a unfortunately a lot of people think that these specific "class" of animals are disgusting and want them to be far away as possible, to get rid of these animals you throw stuff at them. That's just what I always theorised as a kid anyway.

The deaths that traumatised me the most on this show were the hedgehog's deaths, Dreamer's death (series 2) and Scarface's death (series 2) :(

I often thought of all the different possibilities of the hedgehogs being carried across. Not just from whistler too. Fox told toad to grab his tail in an earlier road scene, why not have the hedgehogs pitch a ride? But then I remember that I'm human and have the ability of this kind of thinking, as as far as we know, most animals don't. I mean, it's a cartoon with speaking animals that regularly talk and think about solutions to tasks like a human would. But death on the road is something we all ca understand, especially för poor hedgehogs. Not only would it humanise the animals too much, but would probably just completely take away the lesson the writers wanted the audience to have.

The fear and hopelessness in mrs.hedgehogs voice her husband was so terrified he was frozen in fear. The bird couldn't save them due to the hedgehogs having prickles on them even if they could it would mean 3 would have died in the end she went to her husband's side to comfort him even though she knew they were gonna die

7:43 That is if Fox's face turns into Scarface's, then I'd like to see how Scarface would react at the poisoned fields. Is that why Scarface is blue instead of red like in Fox's Feud?
