Great playing stuff sounds picked to hard and the tone is kinda thin and 80s metalish…

Thinking about throwing a super distortion or pearly gates, maybe a shawbucker in the bridge, and some fat 50’s in middle and neck, get my rock on and my classic chime on, best of both worlds.
@optimus33057 күн бұрын
5’5” brotha, I feel ya, I too rock a 2018 HSS strat, best of both worlds, I deck and hardtail the trem on mine though, I don’t use trem and it increases resonance.

Yeh I considered hard-tailing mine too, but I became a bit attached to the Floyd Rose on my Friedman

That guitar is a keeper because of its tonal versatility, props. Also, I have heard of countless Fender Strat players raving about certain Japanese Fenders, I guess their quality of attention to detail and workmanship is above par there.

Lovely sounding guitar and great job. I had a similar Strat project a couple of years ago. Mine began with a Strat pick guard wired for PRS hum buckers by the legendary Bill Puplett. I built my guitar around it with a MJT body, Fender neck and hardware; but like you I went for a Vegatrem which is out of this world. I also have a CS 1961 Strat to which I am also fitting a Vegatrem because no surgery is required.

How's this compare to your Mezzabarba?
@peterobinson14 күн бұрын
The Gower is like a sledgehammer, the Mezzabarba is like a scalpel. They're both awesome in their own way, depending on the scenario in which you're using them.
@steveymoon14 күн бұрын
@peterobinson - thank you. I'm not quite sure what to do with that other than ask which of the two makes you smile more?
@peterobinson13 күн бұрын
@@steveymoon I'd look at it in terms of needs. The MezzaB does a whole range of things and brings with it an awful lot of midi-switchable tone shaping (the boost, master volume, FX loop, bright cap are all controlled via MIDI with the ability to set and recall presets (i.e. Channel 3, Bright Cap on, Boost On, 2nd Master volume on). As these options are available to all three channels, it gives you an incredible level of versatility - especially if you use a Midi controller (or a unit to that effect) on your pedalboard. For example, I use a G3 Atom and control the amp channel, bright cap, and boost from that as well as it doing my pedal switching. The Gower is an out and out in-your-face rock machine. The mods I have specifically don't give it lots of tonal options, but what it does, it does so very well. So if you just want searing lead and high gain, the Gower all day. If you want optionality, the MezzaB. I hope I've explained that slightly better.

Try running the amp and pedalboard from the same power extension. If you run them from different ring mains youu will have hell with it. And in days gone by I would take the earth off the pedal board. That solved EVERYTHING. Not strictly by the book and i didnt suggest having an IEC cable with the earth snipped at all..... As long as you use a wireless. DIDNT HEAR IT FROM ME!!! 😀

Steve "The Riffmaster" Clark's "Kashmir". Steve left this band a back catalogue to die for - this gig is arguably the band at their peak - Steve's creme Les Paul Custom/triple humbuckers/Kahler is 'the best' guitar I have/will ever see - live "Steamin" just blew the roofs off, he was a lyrical, melodical, harmonical and pure hard riffing genius who is responsible for as Viv admits "90% of what we play Steve left us". His guitar parts are impossible to fully relicate - even Viv who is a beast but every different player to Steve has said hes till cannot nail GoW.

This JCM 800 Mod does both The Master Volume and Super Lead at an amazing level. I have a 1989 100 watt Twin Channel JCM 800 and I think Dan is the Guy I want modding it, and I want it done with the same vintage and light extreme tones that he made for You. Really enjoyed your playing and the tone of this amp. Great job.

Great Amp!!! I have the 50w version and I must say you have done full justice to this amplifier, great job! Now the amp is not only grounded on the input, that "problem" had been fixed. To me the noise problem seems more due to the power supply of the place than to the amplifier
@peterobinson3 ай бұрын
@@MarcoCiafrone I did wonder if it was the venue. We all know how shonky venue power can be, and this amp just seems a little more sensitive to it than my Gower Marshall. In hindsight, I think I’d have preferred the 50W version like you have. This amp is far too loud for me to ever get the most out of it. Thanks so much for your kind words! Glad you enjoyed the video.
