I really hope they rework or do something better with melee in the next game because this combo system sucks. I rarely use melee at all since it is useless against machines and rarely do I think I am gonna do a combo out of it. The only times are when loading up a human enemy and then shooting an arrow at them. Love the game but not this.

For anyone else who has just started and is having trouble with this part of the game, it was not mentioned in the video you have to get both right to progress. Once you do the aerial shot you then have to do the jump off shot, if you don't get the jump off shot right you will have to start again at the aerial jump.

not sure whats up with this tutorial. i did the same exact thing for like half an hour and it kept telling me i input the wrong button. (tap L1, L2, hold l2 and shoot). it kept cutting me off before i could even jump off the dude. i even tried reloading a save to get rid of the pile of armor on the ground thinking maybe it was registering those as hits because the loose armor on the ground would light up when i was swinging. went thru a couple other videos and got no help. ended up here, discouraged that nobody could help and some people weren't even having trouble with it! figured id give it another go anyways and for some reason it let me actually do it after watching this video. i didnt change anything since last time i tried. just had the screen paused while looking for help. i dont know how to leave any advice for the next guy besides just leave it alone and come back later and hope that it works... seems like a weird glitch with how fast it was telling me i failed but i literally did nothing but sit on pause for like 10 mins so idk how i would have "unglitched" it. 🤷

just found the CHALLENGE in scalding spear. it let me complete that one without any issue. its the tutorial (i did mine in chainscrape) that was giving me trouble. maybe try a doing the tutorial at a different melee pit? they seem to be an option at each pit, not just the first pit. hope this helps somebody

This game sucks dude. The first one was so much better. I’m hoping this game really opens up but I’ve been playing it for hours. It’s not a good sign when I’m having to look up how to get through a tutorial hours into the game 🙄

Don’t stress this is the only part that sucks about the game everything is amazing just do your self a favour never use melee combat it almost never works except on small fry enemies

The only disappointment I had with Fort Arsenal, was the fact they should’ve added your ships crew resting, training or eating/drinking and having Gist at least walking about or looking at the map in the big house.

I actually enjoyed doing the collectables for most of the game simply because of all the cool parkour I could do which is rare

I know this is a bit of a late comment but you can catch falling stars which you turn into blue stars and some items and armour give you addition mana as well
