Those were good days. In 1971 I rode an excursion round trip New Orleans to Hattiesburg, ms.behind number 722 pictured here. The next year I rode another similar excursion behind number 4501. The year after that they double headed those two engines and I chased them with a camera. Later that year I rode shay number 4 at Cass, WV. Then drove back south through South Carolina and saw the Edgemoor and Manetta shoreline, which still had steam power. They had and old 0-4-0 tank loco and the sharpest curves and one old textile mill that they served. They interchanged with the SCL ( ACL) three miles away. Thanks for triggering some memories.

Wonderful memories of boardwalk, Kong, Silver Sands, Russo's market and huge North Wildwood beach. Glad I grew up in the 70s and 80s. It was a different world then!

1st. Lived here my whole life, and I can almost honestly tell you, I don't know where, this is. The Aquarius motel might've been, in North Wildwood. But it looks like, center city, Wildwood. As that looks like, Atlantic Ave (@0:51)🤔⁉️.

Back when the whole family saw someone off. You literally waited till the plane lifted. Then you repeated the same routine in reverse when someone arrived. No 911, no cell phones. Life was better.

I raced MX in the early 70s nothing like today's racing. It was talent, not the machine so much. Then the factory teams came in and the small guy couldn't compete. Took the fun out of it.😢

How interesting! I was born and raised in fort Lauderdale Florida and moved to Brevard county in 2010 so I never got to hear the story until now but every time I pass on US1 I see that a frame building that I never knew the story to! I live about two blocks from there right now on US1 and 50 so now I'll get a better appreciation when I drive by

Very cool! Rt 30 is still a great road to travel on,lots of old general store buildings and gas stations . The hot dog stand in ft Wayne Indiana still open and looks like it did when it opened thru Mansfield Ohio where the Shawshank prison still stands into Pa home of the giant Tea pot,the world’s biggest shoe house and Gettysburg battle field!

Rockford doesn't look like that anymore. Many years of economic decline has forever changed the town. I'm sure the guys in Cheap trick can remember it that way.
