Can you please speak on power outages in the area? What farmers market do you recommend?

Power outages aren’t too common unless it’s really severe weather. And even then it depends on the community and they don’t usually last long. My fav farmers markets are Miller Farms in Clinton, Schlagel farms in Waldorf and i like to get meat from Hole in the Woods in Chaptico. Lots of other options in the area as well

Waldorf is a very poorly developed town. One major highway with endless strip malls on both sides.

I sold Real Estate in MD from 2001-2008 and lived off Bensville Road in a beautiful small community built by Rainbow Homes. The appreciation there is CRAZY. I watched it boom. I miss selling there.

I remember when I lived there, the schools were out for (dang can't remember the name of it) but we basically went to like the county fair and saw the 4-H club animals and vegetables and so on...lol...blew my mind.

Thanks! You can find opportunities in every county surrounding DC. Each county does have their own restrictions based on zoning and the amount land you own. Prince George's County, Charles County, and Montgomery County are the closest counties to DC, and all have cities that would be great have a homestead.

Swamps all over, the basements can be a nightmare if built in the wrong area down in Waldorf 😢

Decades ago they didn’t even make homes with basements in Waldorf because of those issues. Almost everything was on slab. Not so much anymore.

Grew up in Charles county in the 80s. It’s different now. I moved to central Virginia in 2008. Crime is bad everywhere. Weather is pretty good there but last night tornadoes did rip through Maryland. We did have a really bad tornado go through laplata that was pretty bad years ago. Overall, not a bad place to live. A bit pricey but many good doctors in the area and close by. I still have a lot of family that live in Charles county and refuse to leave. So no it’s not that bad. Job market is great as well.

Yes! I saw a video of the tornado 🌪️ going through Poolesville yesterday! And lots of people are like your family (and me). I like it here and don’t see myself leaning anytime soon

Lies it is full of crime expensive to live in the schools suck you can research and find all this on-line. Dont let the big houses fool yeah. I lived there all my life and took my family and left in October 2023 for carolina. I raised my kids in wakefield one of the worst communities in waldorf. Was not like that when i was a kid but things change
