Helps when the plates are installed the correct way. They were actually backward when we bought it at the auction, and we didn't notice until after the last video.

I love auction videos. I had no idea what tractor was being bid on though, as the camera was too far away? It would be great if the item up for sale could be seen (or at least some of it?) more clearly.. It would also be nice if I had enough money to buy every tractor up for sale also. One can dream though?

I like your White 2-105. If you watch my channel, you'll see that I have a 2-110, which is just an updated 2-105. I bought it in 2017 out of Kansas, and I've really liked it so far. I use it primarily as my tillage (plowing and disking) tractor.

I have 2 White 5100 planters. I've been using one for about the last 10 years. Good job changing the brushes. However, I noticed that you put the seed disks in backwards. You need to flip them or they won't work. Maybe you noticed that by now. Just thought I better say something. Good luck with your new (to you) planter. White planters are very simple, but very accurate.
@GingercattlemanАй бұрын
Thanks for saying something. we did get a manual for the planter after this so hopefully, no more mistakes like that will happen.

Back when we ran a white 2-105 it required a special oil for the hydraulics because it is a gravity feed system. We changed the oil to match the heavier oil in the 2-135 which has a charge pump to feed the main hydraulic pump. The pump in the 105 would cavitate after that. When asking the dealer he didn't know the 105 required a thinner fluid and he lost a bet when we looked it up. I noticed all the used 85 and 105 tractors they had on the lot all had new hydraulic pumps. If I remember correctly it took. white type 55 hydraulic fluid. Good luck with your tractor we liked ours.
@GingercattlemanАй бұрын
So it's Actually Super UDT2 I used which is a synthetic blend oil with a thinner viscosity rating then Kubota UDT. From my research the universal fluids that meet type 55 also meet UDT. So it is compatible

Those White 588 plows are the king of plows. I own two sets: one four bottom and one six bottom. Both of mine have the dished rolling cutters so you do not have to have coverboards. I plow some every year. I spread manure an apply lime to corn ground and then plow it under for new alfalfa seedings. Usually about fifty acres each year. It must work as We always have good stands. That Brillion seeder went cheap. They bring closer to $7500-10K around here. P.S. I will admit I bought the six bottom plow new in 1985. I just went and looked it up in my record book. I gave $4500 and traded in a set of 508 plows. The dealer told me that was the last set of moldboard plows they sold new. The set of 508s needed moldboards, shins, and points. The parts were going to be $1500. Plus it did not have the dished rolling cutters.

You can pick yourself up some cheap power at these old equipment farm auctions. But, the trouble is the information you're given regarding the unit cannot be independently verified. As a result you buy it and take it home with but you don't know if it's going to run for 10 years or 10 minutes.
