Perfect as always! I like the Grace Under Pressure Tour's version. It's heavier and the synts enter um note before. It's interesting
@hemibass3 күн бұрын
@lucasburigo I was considering doing this to a live version because I also like those 80s performances of it. But I kind of prefer the oberheim horns on the album to the ethereal choir sound of the live ones, so that swayed me towards the studio one. Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed it

Hemi, what strings do you use on the jazz?
@hemibass4 күн бұрын
I use Rotosound Swingbass 66 strings and change them every 2-3 weeks depending on how much I play. I would estimate these have had about 8-10 hours of play when recording this. Thanks for watching!

Excellent job anyway to share the Moog LP patch/settings? many thanks
@hemibass7 күн бұрын
I have the patch saved on the keyboard so yes I can probably dig out the settings next time I have it at home. Normally what I do is start with both oscillators on sawtooth and just tweak the filter settings until it's the equivalent 'softness' as the album recording, then getting the rest of the settings is quite easy
@filimail7 күн бұрын
@@hemibass cool. do you use one of the presets to start on the little phatty and tweak from there?
@hemibass7 күн бұрын
@@filimail I can't remember how I did this one. I think I just edited a patch that the previous owner had made. It's a lot of listening to the sound I'm trying to make and tweaking the synth small amounts at a time

You and Joe Calderone are the two best out there when it comes to capturing Geddy's style, but dude you have the overall advantage I gotta say. You destroyed the solo section of this one! You always find the most creative ways to incorporate "modern" Geddy into these older songs
