Amazing. Loved the sneaky little runs thrown in, can't remember if they are in the original or not. Also as someone else said, I have no idea how geddy can do that and sing at the same time. ❤

@ShaneKorin thanks! Most of the runs i did were based on stuff from the live versions from the tour. I like putting my own little bits in there with rush covers, but often geddys fills and ideas were so cool that I had to just copy them! thanks for watching

When I try to dial in this type of aggro tone on my jazz bass with a Tech21 YYZ pedal most of what I get is just ear-piercing fret clack and it's just not...pleasant. I can see you're absolutely wailing on the strings just like Geddy, and I'm trying to emulate that. Is it a technique thing that I'm missing? Or is there some EQ I'm missing out on?
@hemibassАй бұрын
Without seeing/hearing your sound I can't really say. I definitely have a lot of treble on my sound, but I turn it down if the fret slap is too loud. Distortion also helps make that sound a bit nicer too. Glad you like my sound though, thanks

Excellent I would say. I guess you mean with Flamenco using a down stroke and up stroke with one finger at go. I like the energetic playing, which is certainly called for in Yes bass parts, but few can deliver. I don't miss the pick in this sound at all. I must say I was completely stunned by the playing of Geddy Lee getting so in the same pocket as Squire using a jazz bass and a different technique. Anyway: we all love the thunderous sound of Chris Squire.
@hemibassАй бұрын
@airgead5391 thanks! Yes that is the name that is used for geddy Lee's right hand technique which I am copying with the up/down finger thing. I have no idea how much it is like real flamenco guitar playing haha. Glad you liked it. Chris was a true genius
