my head Canon is that both Rodrigo and Ezio can see the powers because they both have high ISU DNA and those who do not have high ISU DNA can not see the staffs powers

I wouldn't think you'd have to give away key intel before you ensure each recruit fully understands the ideation and goals of the organization, you can also take an approach where you tell nothing but the truth and illuminate other perspectives, give them the option to leave before committing to information that could be their undoing.

Assumptions and omissions by the story can never be fully illuminated. I mean, st Peter likely knew exactly what the staff was capable of if it was in his possession as would have been any other wielder that brandished it The thing if Peter or any of the popes had a magical staff that gave them an advantage, they wouldn't likely broadcast that either disinformation is a key and friends in the value of information The staff is like every other piece of Eden of the issue and the civilization that crafted them and it has powers and abilities that were enumerated to it by the first civilization but like everything else once their civilization came apart it's one of those pieces that fell into human hands at some point in the distant past Chain of ownership is problematic even in items we know or historically relevant not everything can be accounted for but again if the Catholic church had a magical staff at enthralled the minds of its subjects and gave its Wilderness power the less people know the better and unless Ubisoft makes a decision on it in the near future or they're never going to elaborate on the stats history Any of your theories are plausible but the simplest explanation as to why Ubisoft has never come back to elaborate on the staff is simply because the narrative and the story has been moved on from either way it could still very well be beneath the Sistine Chapel or it could have been recovered and removed by later Templars or assassins. And hopefully we will see the staff again and it will be a Center focus of another story but for now it's been relegated to the 360 error Assassin's Creed lineage and that's where it resides until it's touched upon again for either narrative or story sake

There was no such thing as a pope from the creation to Jesus Christ, so why would there be a papal staff? There is also no mention of a pope anywhere in the Bible, nor of Peter having this mystical staff, which by legend had powers of mind control and invisibility. The God I know would neither need or use such a thing to make people believe in Him or His Son. Jesus performed many miracles without a magical staff. His disciples persuaded thousands to follow Him without one.

@@audreywest6707The term pope means father. As in Peter was the first Father of the church. He WAS elected by Jesus, this is indisputable. Christians, who have 7 less books in their "bible" and interpret things in their own way since their first Heretic father.. Luther.. really can grasp many historical and biblical facts.

@@RealSavages even before Constantine created the Catholic church, Rome always marched to a different drummer than the other Christian churches. It is interesting when the various Catholic heresies crept into their religion. I'm not sure why you care about the 7 additional books that are in the Catholic Bible. Catholics don't believe the Bible is authoritative -- whatever the current pope believes is the current direction of the Catholic church (my very Catholic father-in-law has real issues with the current pope). Church tradition -- even if in direct conflict with the Bible -- is considered authoritative. On the bright side, we do agree that Catholicism and Christianity are different religions.

It is possible that the knowledge of the staff disapeared during the great schism when christianty split into Orthodox religon in the eastern roman empire and the catholic church in Rome. If it had been used to make christianity the dominant religion in the roman empire then that knowledge could have been forgotten by most and then only rediscovered by the templars centuries later. Rodrigo Borgias uncle was pope decades before him aswell, he might have even been a templar too. Or maybe not, but given their relation, Rodrigo might have still been given access to the staff and could confirm that it is what it was. Or perhaps it might've even been there that Rodrigos ambitions and obsession with the ancient ISU tech started.

Wait, wasn't Machiavelli Mentor prior to giving it to Ezio. Mario was Ezios mentor, not the mentor of the assassin brotherhood in Italy. I didn't think Mario was mentor? That's why Machiavelli is the one taking center stage all the time?
