I must visit this garden. I’m not that far from it. 27 miles and 1 hour. Got to do it!

I LOVE the rose garden. I grew up visiting it as a child with my family, having my high school graduation from Lincoln there, and just enjoying its overall majestic beauty. I consider it the "Garden of Eden of Silicon Valley", and it's my escape from the chaos of Silicon Valley life. It's my church, my sanctuary, and my favorite place in San Jose. I host a weekly walk at the rose garden, and I'm amazed at how many people don't know about or have visited it before. The new members of my walking group always thank me for introducing them to the garden, and they are amazed at its immaculate beauty. I tell them that I'm happy to share my rose garden with people who don't know about it. I love you Rose Garden! A great thanks to all the volunteers who maintain it and keep it alive and thriving! We need to keep this hidden gem blooming for new generations to enjoy.

Thank you so much, citizens and volunteers of San Jose Rose Garden, for the beauty that you have preserved for people like me to enjoy. If I lived in San Jose, I would definitely join hands with you in this preservation of the roses, that might have died, had you not volunteered with your selfless love. God Bless you all.

Best demo EVER!! Was sooo confused, some references said 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th set of 5, some didn't mention 5 leaves...?!!$@*! Great explanation of where and why, new growth to look out for with clear visuals. Thanks!

Thank you!!!! So glad I watched this before I butchered my roses! Does the same rule apply for shrub roses? Also, do I remove all foliage if there is some underneath my cuts?

Great video! I'm glad I looked up some info here before I chopped my rose bush terribly. It's super tall bc I don't know how to tackle it. Gotta get it under control! :)

The method of snapping off the sucker at the base (instead of cutting higher up) sounds like a real time-saver.

I bought this rose bush at Wal-Mart, it was pitiful and I wanted to try to save its life so I had to prune it down to nothing. I hope it will make it.
