I lived right there at the Riverside Tower hotel,years ago. 8th floor corner unit, overlooking the park. It was perfect Zabars and H&H right up the block. Best two years of my life, so far.

This is actually a really good example of a Vauban star fort used in the early modern period. It's a shame they don't really do anything with it. There's all the barracks buildings there they could easily make them period rooms and a nice museum. Instead, it looks like its just sitting there abandoned.
