Looking at buying a property unfortunately it looks like ill only be able to have 1 acre this gives me hope i love the diversity on the farm

Homesteading is a challenge and definitely an education so keep it up. If I can offer a word of advice. You have to many animals for the space your working with. You can definitely homestead on an acre but if you overwhelm the land it will fail. I'm sure you love your horses but they just don't have enough space and the others will pay the price. Good luck.

Now I always thought you needed an acre or so per animal when it came to animals like cows and especially horses? Asking as a guy who also just bought land, are horses and cows really ideal, and overall happy, on that amount of land?

Yes, you are correct to a point they say a acre or so for them if they are grazing on grass. But we feed are animals hay and feed everyday morning and night. We are working on getting more land for our animals. But our animals are happy we treat them very well and are heathy animals.
