It's pretty tough for a lion to catch a wild dog unless they catch them completely off-guard. Wild dogs are just too fast, too quick and too agile, unless it's pup. FYI - Despite unproven claims of lionesses reaching 80 KMH there is absolutely no corroborating evidence that they've been clocked more than record 71 kMH and that was a record for a short distance, not an average.
