A mugen is a program where you can add sprite based fighters based on street fighter alpha engine. Some clever spark made a great X-men vs. Avengers game. It features loading screens of comic art and is a love note to games like this. Shame, it doesn't get much love as it is a Final Fight clone down to two of the players looking like a temu version of Guy and Cody, and the inclusion of the lift level with a boss that runs ona platform in the back ground was taken straight from the Capcom classic. However, as you correctly say, the backgrounds are far better, full od details, and a true testament to the power of the Neo Geo.

I prefer the Arcade version bc of the Lamborghinis.(The switch at least has the Veneno but as a police car) If only Nintendo handles the licensing issues.

what an awesome find! i still hope to find one of these motion cabinets out in the wild sometime. we never had them where i grew up in the midwest - just the standard cabs. but i've heard there are some where i now live in california still. will eventually find one of them.

honestly this just looks weird / worse than the original textures. the dreamcast version did a much better job of upping the texture resolution while keeping things artistically interesting. this mod just makes everything look more... i dunno... generic. and those smeared track maps on the selection screen look awful, too.

If you get a chance, look at the mod of three 7 speedway. I'm not sure about the blinking sign or new sonic texture on the wall either. This course was the one the bugged me less with this texture pack but totally agree it feels off.

There is a really funny easter egg with this particular bike's opening -- if you turn off the attract sound, the sound of a jet flying through LAX will still play at 1:06 in dead silence. My local Pizza Inn buffet in South Carolina had this game years ago with the attract sound off and I was surprised to hear that coming through while sitting on the machine before putting coins in. There was also the Rev B version that had different intros for the Dyna Wide Glide and FXRP Police Bike. And a checkpoint spot was removed that made Hollywood more difficult to get to.

It is a great game remember I found it in a little arcade in Ingoldmells just a short drive from the awesome Skegness. Was a real treat and still is. Laid down all the ground work for crazy taxi and 18 wheeler, both remembered more than this game sadly.

The controls aren't quick enough to respond all the time, bad things is as soon as I stopped fiming straight through that level. Game does have a chapter select so not all bad.
