Sorry to be so long with the reply. I don't get on FB all that often and just joined this group. I would think my son might have answered as he performed the restoration on my car. The engine is the original engine from the 1960's. Same block, rods, crank, pistons, flywheel, head, header manifold and SU carburetors. The engine was built originally in 1965 following an article in Sports Car Graphic magazine on the preparation of the engine for their Sebring P-1800. Volvo's own performance kit, available through their R-sport division, was purchased. It consisted of a competition cam, high compression head and header. The original cam was worn out. My son Nick replaced it with a grind that is as close to the original "C" cam as we could find. The engine is rated at approx. 135 hp and will rev to 7000+ rpm. It is entirely streetable. The car, including the engine, has been restored as close as possible to the way it was when I retired it from active competition at the end of the 1969 racing season. The car was street licensed through its entire racing career.
