I was three 3️⃣ years old when I couldn’t stop 🛑 running 🏃‍♀️ around the house 🏡 and then my mom 👩 turned on the tv 📺 and there was Shining Time Station 🚉. I was transfixed on this fun whimsy world 🌍 and later got my first Thomas video and it was my biggest obsession until I started listening 👂 to the Beatles. Now the Beatles and Thomas with a connection are my two 2️⃣ biggest obsessions.

You forgot the Kabillion channel. It not only aired the US versions of seasons 1-7 but it also unexpectedly aired the UK versions of some of the HiT Era seasons which is the second time that people who live in the US get exposed to Michael Angelis’s narration ever since the New Friends For Thomas DVD and VHS release.

Anyone here watching 2024? Samsung TV plus has brought back the show by adding Sensical Jr. in the Kids channel list and it airs series 1-5 episode groups including All Engines Go shorts from 12pm to 1pm and 12am to 1am everyday. Now we can have a good time to relive our childhoods again!

Another thing I don't like in The Great Race is how darn long it takes to get to the railway show. It takes literally like, two thirds of the movie just to arrive. And when they get there, every game is rushed in like 5 minutes so they can cut to the chase with Gordon's safety valve, Thomas at the shunting competition, Vinnie's defeat and heading back home again, all in like a rushed 20 minutes.

My favorite Thomas and Friends seasons are 4-7.

Thomas is a very special and unique engine and here's what makes him unique: 1) Thomas is the first character introduced in the 📺 Series. 2)Thomas is the number one blue engine. 3) Thomas is the main character 4) Thomas is the only blue standard guage tank engine on Sodor. 5) Thomas is the first and only engine who traveled through magic buffers through the Magic Railroad to Muffle Mountain and back again to Sodor. 6) Thomas is the first engine to win a🥇.

If I were the narrator of an episode, here's how I'd introduce an episode revolving around Thomas: Thomas is an adorable blue tank engine with an adorable smile. Here's my example of Percy: Percy is an adorable and playful green tank engine with an adorable smile.

The US version of Thomas and Friends is the best.

14) Big World Big Adventures Pros: Adventureous, Love the idea of Thomas traveling around the 🌎 and the part where he visits the 🇺🇸 was amazing. Thomas welcomes Nia to Sodor. The songs were great, especially the song Sometimes You Make a Friend as it shows how guilty Thomas truly feels for emotionally hurting Nia. Cons: Thomas was unkind to Nia at first and Ace is selfish. They didn't put Thomas going to India in the special. Although he did go to India as shown in Season 22. 13) Journey Beyond Sodor Pros: The songs were upbeat and catchy. Especially the song I Want To Go Home as it shows that Thomas feels truly homesick. The escape scenes were absolutely EPIC and Thomas found purpose for Merlin, Lexi and Theo. Finally, Thomas and James patch up their quarrel and work together to head back to Sodor. Cons: Thomas is treated like a prisoner by Hurricane and Frankie. Beresford was a bit of a jerk to Thomas. 13) The Great Race Pros: The Great Railway Show reminds me of talent shows that people perform. Thomas got to show his special shunting talent in the shunting challenge. Ashima is left behind as the ⛴ leaves with the other international engines but that's good in a way as she got to know the Sodor engines. Thomas became her best friend. Thomas and Ashima stood up to Vinnie who was bullying Phillip. The songs are awesome with my favorite being Be Who You Are and Go Far. Cons: Thomas' splendid blue paint was messed up at the Steamworks and his front buffer beam was damaged and he remained like that for the rest of the 🎥 with no repair or repaint. Sodor's Legend of the Lost Treasure Pros: Exciting Plot line, Donald and Douglas are back, The Miniature Railway Engines from The Railway Series make their debut, The treasure chase scene is amazing and Sir Topham Hatt is proud of Thomas in the end. Thomas and Ryan become friends in the end and Skiff becomes a new friend of Thomas'. Cons: Gordon is a jerk to Thomas by calling him a silly little tank engine although it doesn't justify Thomas causing an accident with the express coaches, Thomas was severely damaged after falling into a cavern and he was fully repaired when he was back from the works as his paintwork is scratched and dusty and remained like that for most of the film. Daisy who is my most disliked character returns as she's ugly and annoying. Sir Topham Hatt was cross with Thomas too many times. Thomas feeling replaced by Ryan. The Adventure Begins Pros: Edward is a father figure and mentor to Thomas. This is a recreation of the first six season 1 episodes. The movie ends with Thomas receiving his own branchline. Cons: Percy is not in this movie. Thomas' voice changed vut the new voice is somewhat good. Tale of the Brave Pros: Percy is the main character, although Thomas is my favorite but I admire Thomas and Percy equally and both engines are my favorite. Fascinating discoveries are made. Bill and Ben the Tank Engine Twins rescue Thomas from a landslide and Percy rescues James likewise. Thomas, Percy and James are a friendship trio in this film. Cons: James is a jerk to Percy, Percy is 😡 at Thomas and coldly puffs away from him due to not believe him that there is a 'monster' which is a pile of scrap James made to frighten Percy. King of the Railway Pros: A new 🏰 is being built which is Ulfstead 🏰. Thomas and Percy work together and have fun together as good friends should. Stephen is introduced and we learn about him. Gordon and Spencer race each other. The mine is an exciting adventure. Cons: None Day of the Diesels: Thomas is deeply concerned about Percy. Thomas and Percy along with the rest of the steam team fight for the Steamworks. Thomas and Percy help each other. Cons: Percy becomes "friends" with Diesel and Diesel 10 and he gradually spends more time at the DieselWorks. Den and Dart hold Thomas hostage in the back shed. Blue Mountain Mystery Pros: The Narrow Gauge Engines along with Mr Percival the Narrow Guage Controller return. Thomas goes out of his way to help Luke despite a misunderstanding. Recreated flashbacks of the Classic Thomas episodes Come Out Henry, Down the Mine and A Scarf for Percy are referenced. Cons: Diesel is up to no good and the Narrow Guage Engines turn against Thomas over a misunderstanding although it qas temporary. Misty Island Rescue: Thomas is on a new adventure. The Logging Locos are fun and playful. Thomas saves Diesel despite their rivalry. Edward, Gordon and James look for Thomas on Misty Island. Thomas reunites with Percy and the other Sodor engines in the end. Cons: Diesel lost the Jobi Wood and the post credits scene with Diesel 10 is creepy and unwanted. Hero of the Rails Pros: Thomas meeting Hiro and becoming his new friend. All engines setting aside their differences and forming a team for Hiro, especially Gordon and James as they're not their usual boastful selves in the movie. Spencer as the main antagonist. The Steam Team teaming up against Spencer. Spencer's accident at the quarry. Thomas vs Spencer chase where Spencer falls into the muddy marsh. The engines seem Hiro off at the end and him talking to Thomas and Percy. Thomas and Percy helping Hiro to the Steamworks. Cons: None The Great Discovery Pros: Thomas' brass model and facial expressions and the similarity to Season 11, Thomas, You're the Leader rap, Thomas' shade of blue paint and various smiles, The Thomas and James race, Jack and the Pack are in this movie. Thomas and Stanley become friends in the end. Cons: Thomas' accident around the bend and in the tunnel, Thomas being mean to Stanley at first and then going missing. Calling All Engines Pros: The Steamies vs Diesels rivalry and the engines fight, Thomas biffing Arry, Gordon biffing Bert, Emily and Henry biffing Diesel. Thomas talking to Mavis about his idea. Thomas convincing Diesel 10 to help them out. Thomas' dream sequence with Lady in it. Thomas lowering the bridge section into place and gloating that steamies are better than diesels. The songs are catchy. Cons: Diesel, Arry and Bert being mean to the steam engines, Diesel biffing the paint flat beds and the paint cans spilling on Thomas. Arry biffing James, Diesel biffing Toby and Bert biffing Henry. Thomas and the Magic Railroad Pros: The first and only Tjomas theatrical movie. I like Thomas' shade of blue paint and Percy's shade of green paint. The various soundtracks and Thomas being confident in himself by saying "Little engines can do big things, especially when they have nice blue paint like me". Thomas being the first and only engine who traveled through the magic buffers through the Magic Railroad to Muffle 🏔 and back again to Sodor. The chase scene and Diesel 10's defeat. Cons: Edward is not in the movie. James and Percy are voiced by female actors and Gordon being a jerk to Thomas.

PBS Kids and Sprout were absolutely clutch for me when watching Thomas. I remember during the weekdays I’d watch it on Sprout and I remember getting up on Saturday mornings and turning on PBS Kids to watch it again with addition to Dinosaur Train too.

This is probably a pretty hot take, but one thing that’s always bothered me about both Michael Angelis and Ringo Starr’s narrations is that their voices for characters always felt very samey. What I mean by this is that it rarely ever sounded like they were putting on a voice to me. And even when they did, half the time they still sounded like they blended in too much with their other character voices. A good example of what I mean by this would be their voices for Donald and Douglas. Even though you can hear them trying to pull off an accent with them, they still sound pretty much the same as their usual narration and other voices. So half the time, I couldn’t even tell who was talking. And then take George Carlin’s voices for the twins. I feel as though there was a lot more energy and effort being put into his voices for them to help them stand out better. Same for characters like Gordon, or Duck, or Duke. Most of them sounded very distinctive, and thus were easier to tell apart. Whilst Angelis and Ringo’s voices just blended in with one another too often for me. Don’t get me wrong- I have a lot of respect for each of them. All of them are great narrators in their own right, and have had their moments. And I definitely think Angelis put in more effort with his voices than Ringo did. (I loved Angelis’ James and Sir Topham Hatt voices.) But compared to someone like Carlin, I think both fall behind. That’s why I also like Baldwin and Brandon’s narrations. They weren’t perfect always- but they still made their voices sound distinct from one another typically and made it more noticeable as to who was talking. (Except for maybe Season 6 Alec Baldwin at times, but we won’t talk about that.) Even if I were a Brit, I imagine I’d feel the same way about this still.

10:44 FUN FACT: Starting from season 10-onwards on discovery kids. They started to cut scenes from episodes. Sometimes cutting the today on the island of sodor segment. Songs and learning segments. And from airing 34 navigation up until the last airings of season 13 they show the discovery networks logo. Thankfully season 8-9 aired on other spanish channels. And they were shown complete. Well obviously cutting the season 6-7 episodes they did the same thing with portuguese. In the international channels they would often cut halfway the credits. However season 10-11 remained in their DK masters but with the english titles when they aired them on international spanish channels 13:10. When season 11 aired on sprout. They instead put the season 8 intro and engine roll call. Discovery kids also did that when season 11 aired between 2008 up until 2011

9:08 during the time when season 9 aired on pbs. The season 8 airings receive a full change. Removing the dear Christopher segment. An amtrak or learning curve promo. The intro now modificated to the season 9. The today on the island of sodor segments got music changes. At the end of the engine roll call they would show a thomas transition. And the credits were shortened up. And also during the time season 11 aired in pbs in 2007. Season 9-10 receive lots of changes. The good morning and good night thomas segment were shortened up to match the season 11 ones
