Every town had a lone Ted in 70’s & 80’s. Loved seeing him walking down the road carrying his radio, you always saw people doing that, playing their music, no AirPods in those days, brought back memories!!

Looking at all the snowflakes we have today, being a Ted is mild and more stylish in comparison... if one is now choosing an alternative lifestyle choice, choosing to become a Ted today would be a nice social change of pace -- we need more 'Stray Cats' in our society.

Good point! Johnny the Ted was so far out of fashion that he was in the vanguard of "The next big thing," because from the way the 1982 TV hostesses talk, the Rockabilly revival hadn't hit the mainstream yet.
