PW1000G "how it works" it goes KA-BOOM ! Un-containment. Why don't they talk about that? (Mirabel Canada)

One "feature" of the GTF is that almost 100% of the torque load to the Fan is carried by only 2 (out of 5) of the gears. But, don't have to EXPLAIN that to get certified per the cert folks at the FAA because PW never told them. Lying by Omission, OK as long as the executives receive their quarterly fucking bonuses. Ultimately that big planetary gear at the front of the engine is going to BREAK more frequently than that what was promised by PW to the Airlines that bought the engine. They are going to FAIL ETOPS. Just wait. Paul Adams, "fired" because he "couldn't deliver" on schedule, NOT because he couldn't deliver a safe and reliable engine. Tells you everything you need to know about the GTF from Pratt. Schedule First, Safety and Reliability Second. Hey Paul Adams, why don't you talk about the Mirabel un-containment? Come on! Don't be so shy! FAILURE.

If the setup looks radially identical, can you explain how only 2 of the 5 gears carry most the load?

THAT is the fucking POINT. NO ONE to this day has been able to explain. The entire Safety Certification process consists of EVIDENCE submitted to the FAA cert office (for the GTF, this is Burlington, NH) and statements of conclusion, "here is this evidence that shows this FAR is met" hundreds of pieces of evidence, including the cyclic loads on that planetary gear, at the end of the report, a statement "this engine is safe" PW did NOT do that, they left the un-equal loads of the gear buried in management "decisions." And it was simple to REMOVE the words from the certification report "the loads on the planetary gears are un-equally distributed, however we do not assess this as impacting any safety requirement" Simple, and removed from the certification report submitted to the FAA, no transparency to the FAA, just like the two Boeing Max crashes, keeping an analysis outcome inside of the company for ....meeting a planned schedule. Fuck the management LIARS in Pratt & Whitney and fuck the idiots inside the FAA for being so STUPID not to see this. It's their fucking JOB. (the FAA and the DOT has been notified outside of normal communication channels about this issue and others concerning the certification of the PW1100G engine and have done fucking NOTHING to this day) @@jeylful

I can, PW can, PW never informed the FAA. Transparency of what was found when certifying a new engine was not present at PW. Schedule and "gender parity" was present, NOT ethical and moral Engineering Design behavior when building something that can kill people if it fails catastrophically. Can we think of another incident of transparency kept from the FAA? Oh yes you can! It's called the Boeing 737MAX. @@jeylful
