Gordon Nicolson Kiltmakers is an independent family run business situated in the Canongate on Edinburgh's Historic Royal Mile. Our store specialises in traditional Highland dress and accessories, also providing kilt hire.

Additionally, we are the founders of the Edinburgh Kiltmakers Academy. This provides students with the opportunity to learn how to make quality, hand-crafted kilts in a 16 week course that is recognised by the SQA as a level 3 qualification.

l reckon kilts make nearly ALL men look good..even the larger men..and you obviously don't need to be Scottish to wear & look good in them..

Would love to come take a course in this fine academy. Have made a kilt for myself years ago and now am in the beginning stages of learning to make them for others. Im a piper and hopefully soon a kilt maker in the USA.
