Professional presentation of equipment. For the summer of 2024, I plan to take on the Lake Michigan challenge. I want to start in Chicago and sail down the west coast to Mackinaw City. The route is approximately 333 miles (550KM). Maybe you have a Melker test model to rent and create a promotional campaign?

I was going to get a Phoenix in IXP but none were available in my market. I wanted it to be the "tank" and do anything with it. But instead I got it in Blacklite, which is by far their best looking layup. And for my needs it is more than sturdy enough, and super light. I do small to medium rivers, ponds, small to medium lakes, and backwaters. I am 6'4" and 220+ lbs and it suits me great. It's a playful boat but still has nice glide to it. Folks like to kneel in it, or even sit deep and use a double bladed paddle. I myself use their mid-drop seat, and sit, but use a single bladed paddle for 99.999% of my time out, but do keep a double blade just in case I want to scoot out of weather or there is too strong of a headwind or similar situations. It's a great solo canoe, but not one I would suggest for multi-day tripping. That said, Northstar has other models specifically suited for that. Cheers!

I don't understand the "internal skid plates". What do they do?
@offshore-paddlingwarehouse
@offshore-paddlingwarehouse Жыл бұрын
Same idea as external skids - additional reinforcement, but laid in at the time of the canoe's molding so that they don't change the thickness or profile of the nose and tail.
@Thestripper1
@Thestripper1 Жыл бұрын
@@offshore-paddlingwarehouse What I meant was that since these canoes are made in a female mold you could put the abrasion resistant material as the outermost layer. This will not alter the shape of the hull. Also, in boats the "nose" and "tail" is called bow and stern.

Just took mine out after purchasing i had a big fish 105 which is pretty stable itself but is a beast to paddle and I've never had the confidence to stand in it but within 3 minutes on the water I was standing in the outlaw definitely going to add a trolling motor to the back like i did my big fish to be able to get put farther without getting fatigued.

That's interesting that the hull color is black in your video, but the CD website doesn't list black as an available color when you go to design a kayak - the one I tried was the Sisu. Probably just a website oversight.
@offshore-paddlingwarehouse

There's a lot of flexibility with CD in terms of colors, and they're willing to do non-catalog colors for dealers if we ask. We just got a Sisu in with a lime hull, Aqua trim, and white deck, and have a Karla coming soon with an Eggplant/Burgundy hull and trim and white deck.

Took my Outlaw out on maiden voyage today. Loved it i soent half the day standing up and paddeling. It was very easy and super stable. I did notice paddeling against the current the boat is a tank but with the current and no current it tracked very nice and once i for up to speed it was easy to maintain. Im so glad i bought the outlaw. In the future im thinking about a torqueeto ultralight motor

I’m 6ft 6 inches and weigh 276 lbs,Do you think I will have enough leg room for this Kayak,I’m very interested in getting one,I really like the Perception Outlaw
@offshore-paddlingwarehouse
@offshore-paddlingwarehouse 4 жыл бұрын
The Outlaw can definitely handle a taller and larger paddler, but how comfortable they’d be standing will have a lot to do with their athleticism. Oftentimes, paddlers over 6’3” move into 13 or 14 foot boats as the longer waterline seems to counteract their higher centers of gravity. Best bet would be to find a shop near you who carries the boat, and get it out on the water for a test paddle.

It would appear the chair does not go on top of the cooler, maybe a shorter cooler can fit under the chair? It seems you will have to sit on the cooler with no back rest. Great kayak with everything else.

Perception makes a setback cooler specifically for these frame seats, so you can use the seat in the regular position and still have a cooler with you. offshore-marine.myshopify.com/products/perception-splash-seatback-cooler

I love my next. I use it as my second boat. my main boat is a Feel Free Lure 13.5 but I take out my next nearly as much as my big boat. I take it to the smaller waters and rivers that have limited access. I've carried it a half mile and still had plenty of gas left in the tank for the day of fishing and the carry back to the truck. It's my short trip to the secluded fishing spot boat.

@offshore-paddlingwarehouse

Checked with Old Town, and the two drives are not interchangeable (the deck heights are a little different between the two models, so the MK pod won't be a flush fit on a PDL).
