I remember that tornado like it was yesterday My family lived here since the '80s My uncle was pissed that they removed the tornado sirens in 1993 because the Cold war was over if they hadn't removed the sirens my uncle would have been alerted faster he was in his pickup truck listening to music off of cassette tape meaning that there was no warning for him he almost died because of that luckily now we have wireless emergency alerts but back then there was no such thing and even if there was my uncle had his phone off at the time and it was a flip phone there was no way he would get an emergency alert it was only invented for smartphones sometimes I wish we had never gotten rid of the tornado sirens back in 1993 My uncle wouldn't have lost his truck

I was out on 440 somewhere between the Capital Blvd and North Hills exit, I think, pulled over on the side of the road. I had only been in Raleigh for 3 months so I really didn't know where I was at that time. But it was raining so hard I couldn't see in front of me, and it was horizontal. I was terrified, lol. I always wondered where that tornado actually was...thanks for this interesting footage!

I just moved to Raleigh right before lock downs. I was doing food/grocery deliveries for people while they were locked down. One day, it was very stormy, very windy, and the rain was, as you said, horizontal...it was really bad, and very hard to see the road. When I finally got to the customer's house, I mentioned the weather and how I was wondering if I was in a tornado. They didn't seem to understand. Never saw anything about it or heard anyone talk about it, so it must not have been one, but I do wonder what it was, because aside from hurricanes that I experienced when I lived in FL, I've never seen the rain go almost completely sideways.

I remember that day, I was to afraid to record. Luckily it didnt touch down. It would have destroyed downtown. It was literally right above

I remember that day very well too! It was the only day since I had moved down here in 1992 that they were flashing "TORNADO EMERGENCY" across the t.v. screen. I had my two dogs in their harnesses and I was already to grab them and get into a closet. I can't believe it was that long ago! How time flies!

Remember that day there were tornadoes all over the state of North Carolina one took out a Lowe's in Sanford one did a lot of damage in Fayetteville live 12 miles from the Fayetteville tornado didn't have power for a day and a half but had no damage around my neighborhood so we were lucky

I remember that day. Was driving down the belt line with a canoe on my truck and got off as soon as I could thought the wind was going to snap the racks off. Friend of mine lived close to the intersection of Holly Springs and Kildare Farm road it just missed his place

Not a tornado-a microburst. A massive column of saturated sinking air that explodes down from a cloud with super high velocity wind sheer at the surface.

Considering all news channels were covering this as a tornado, I think I’ll believe them. Evidently you didn’t see the damage from South Carolina to Virginia.

This was the tornado family that started in Sanford NC and tracked all the way through Raleigh. I lived on Ten Ten Rd close to Lake wheeler Rd. It got within a mile of my house as it came down Holly Springs Rd and crossed Ten Ten to hit the NC State cattle farm just before entering downtown.

Major, you hit spot on again, how we Christian's, can live our best lives as a Blessing to others in all things we do. So often we are the only Jesus others may see or hear. We all have the old sinful nature inside of us. You were right, we need to ask the Holy Spirit to surround us when we feel the need to judge others, or we turn back to our evil ways. Thank you all for our Blessings today. Love & Prayers, Dianne
