As a comedian he probably work nights. I also had trouble sleeping unless it is strangely enough in the day time. I think it's because I worked night shifts for so many years.

A friend of mine said he fell asleep straight away on a plane, because of the noise from the plane's engine. I said it was probably because he was so used to falling asleep from the sound of his wife's vibrator. He didn't like it.

As someone who used to be really bad at falling asleep, but isn't anymore, I'm happy that you think I'm smart because I understood the jealousy instantly. 🤣 My solution is to just have something on in the background. If I'm laying down and there's something in the background I can listen to, particularly people talking, to distract me from my own thoughts, I fall asleep fairly quickly.
@-NEH-16 сағат бұрын
Same here. I select the most boring zero interesting movie (or YT video) and I can sleep.
@NLTops15 сағат бұрын
@@-NEH- Gotta be careful with that autoplay button tho. I've had some freaky wake-ups when it goes from some documentary-like droning to horror/action-reminiscent yelling. 🤣 So for me it's playlisting long enough for the entire duration or autoplay off and something about an hour or two long where I know nothing weird happens.

As someone who can not fall asleep also, i usually stay up way to late... untill i almost fall asleep. resulting in to little sleep and tired all day.. then its evening and awake we are. thats pure joy...
@NLTops13 сағат бұрын
@@Patsoor Frankly, I don't know what changed that caused me to become better at falling asleep. The solution I mentioned helps but it's not as if it's the first time I tried it when it worked. I'm still a night owl, but if I want to sleep I will.

The same here. I can only sleep in a bed and only at night. No matter how tired I am, I can only sleep at night. It was like that even as a child. There was a midday nap in kindergarten and everyone fell asleep. I was the only one who stayed awake (I still had to lie down). Therefore, I am not suitable for jobs that require flexible sleep.
@raafmaatКүн бұрын
im the other way around, i have mighty diffuculty trying to sleep when laying in bed! but when im seated in a car there is no issue! to the point that nowadays, if i have anything important the next day i will not even try bed, i will just find a sofa or chair (gaming chair works nice!) and try to recreate the position you take in a car, with your head resting on your handpalm while the elbow is resting on something, for some obscure reason that position just allows me to sleep within minutes
@MrEddy-bm3eo16 сағат бұрын
@@raafmaat Interesting! in the 18 th century people in Europe believed that sleeping horizontally is bad for your health. For this reason, the beds were smaller than the length of the body, so that you had to lie down in a kind of crouching position to sleep. Maybe you are an 18th century guy.
@raafmaat14 сағат бұрын
@@MrEddy-bm3eo ah yeah i do often feel like i was born in the wrong century! but joking aside im actually interested in that crouching position, i cannot imagine it, do you mean like sitting on your knees and then just lay down forward? ive tried that but my legs become numb :P
@MrEddy-bm3eo3 сағат бұрын
@@raafmaat Crouching was the wrong word. The sleeping position was rather that you leaned with your upper body against the head of the bed (with a pillow as support) and your legs were pulled up a little. A famous painting that shows this position is this: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carl_Spitzweg#/media/File:Carl_Spitzweg_-_Der_arme_Poet_(Neue_Pinakothek).jpg
