If you want to hear a dance that matches this one in every respect, listen to Bach BWV 1005, Sonata no 3 for violin, the Allegro. The emotion it conveys is exactly the same. It makes you want to get up and dance for hours.

It's a pity they didn't show the sections of the dance that matched the sections of the music once they started cutting back and forth the conversation and the dance.

I love the awkward silence after Mr. Bennet speaks. His treatment of his wife and daughters don't go unnoticed, and no matter how superior he feels, everyone judges *him*.

@@jezcolborne6329 I love how you think you know it all, you haven’t even worked with sirens and have no technical knowledge on them. I have plenty of technical knowledge on electrical systems and components. This does include stuff with motors etc. and I own a siren too.

@@BritishLifeSafetySystems the siren I am on about is on 60HZ single phase and its not running up that bloody quick my friend. The high pitched cs8 is 3 phase but the other siren is 60HZ single phase and that is the siren I am on about so less of the narkyness

I remember Ken with great affection. A great character and an inspiring priest. (I have no religious conviction). He was an outstanding musician for Morris. He played a Wheatstone linota, and for morris meetings played William Kimber’s box. Sadly missed.

thanks. was thinking this tune might be Scarborough Long Room Triple Jig, which seems similar but is not identical. the same tune appears in the BBC production of Silas Marner w/ Ben Kingsley (1985).

Dickens set the scene in the book by mentioning the name of the dance and the tune (Sir Roger de Coverley). The producers have followed suit.

That was pretty cool! Is the dog howling because he is "singing along", or is it some frequency on the concertina that he's not too fond of?
@makeitfolky10 жыл бұрын
He only does it to Free Reed instruments (which means my practising suffers quite a lot), but even if I am playing in a different room or in the garden he'll run out to me to howl along. I assume it's because he likes it, but he could just be performing a public service, I'm not entirely sure.
