There are times when you just feel that you are listening to another part of your heart. Ive watched many many videos on worship guitar. This brother is a gifted teacher and player. I am going to save up some money and join his lifetime classes. I thank you my brother for all you do. Your blend of teaching guitar and the Word of God is so refreshing. I hope one day to understand the neck and the soul of worship like you do. God bless you!

I am old guy new to contemporary Christian music. I started tinkering with guitars again when I retired in 2017 -after a 30 year hiatus. It is somewhat overwhelming with all of the different position/voicings to play notes and chords on the fret board. I am new to your channel and thank you for your videos and breaking things down. It is hard to know which one to watch first!

Greeting Sir, happy to see and hear you lesson, thank you for this video, i also wanted to know one more thing as i am looking to purchase a good electric an my budget is not more than 600$, if you could suggest some good that i can purchase one and i would also love to the guitar that you use it i loved the look it could you please let me know what is the nameof the guitar that you are using and what is the cost of it. Thank You in advance.
@TheReBorn5 күн бұрын
The guitar he is using is a Core (made in USA) PRS Custom 22 from late 90s-early 2000s. Used are going to run you about $1500 to $2000 USD. PRS does have an SE line made in Indonesia now that you can get some new or used in your price range and they are very good. I have had a couple and would definitely recommend them. Hope this helps!

@@WorshipGuitarSkills THANK YOU!! I am a tone-nerd; always concerned and chasing the best tones, and there is just such an indescribable quality to the tone you have carved out. So clear and yet overdriven, etc. Super epic. Thank you also for the content you put out. I am humbled to be a part of the creation of a worshipful environment in our church.

20:40 I am confused by the fact that the 6 and 4 are the exact same notes. How is that possible?
@WorshipGuitarSkills13 күн бұрын
Great observation. The 6 chord is Am and the notes in Am is ACE. The 4 chord is F and the notes in F is FAC. As you can see those two different chords share two of the same notes namely A and C. So that's why I can play that diad chord shape with A and C and leave it the same for both chords because the shared notes are the same. The main thing to get here is that while the notes are the same between the different chords, the function of the notes change when the chords change. A is the root note when played over Am but it's the 3rd when played over F. C is the minor 3rd when played over Am but it's the 5th when played over F. Once you start seeing these connections between chords it stars to open up a lot of new possibilities.
@jedi_41713 күн бұрын
@@WorshipGuitarSkills so if I understand that correctly, some other instrument is playing the missing note from the triad that leads us to recognize a chord change? I hope that makes sense. Thank you for the awesome video!

Standardized worship guitar? Everything has sounded the same for 20 years. Tiresome Hillsong and U2 "I still haven't found..." Boring. Wouldn't surprise me if even God is fed up with this.
@WorshipGuitarSkills13 күн бұрын
Man you're missing the point here. It's not about the guitar playing. It's not about the style. God doesn't care about that. What he cares about is your heart posture. He cares about how you express your love to Him, irrespective of the style of music or the instrument. It's about relationship and your expression of worship. It's about knowing who God is, what he's done for you and who you are as a result of the finished work of Christ. And it's about how you respond to all of that. The guitar style, music style, tone and all that pales in comparison to that. So start by getting that right. Then yes, we are created in the likeness of THE CREATOR, and we should be creative yes. But we can't judge the quality of worship by our own subjective taste of music and what we personally deem as good or not. The music and and the guitar playing is just a tool to express our heart and love for God in worship. Don't make the guitar or music the main thing because it isn't.
@doubleuseven12 күн бұрын
@@WorshipGuitarSkills "Pro-level worship guitar". It has become a standard as if it's in the Bible how to play. You made it about guitar, not me. I play the guitar and this is how they expected me to play in church. As if my heart is only right when I engage the delay and chorus. Crazy.
