I just had a sudden brain blast. What if the reason why deku and shigaraki have the same quirk In this universe is because they're distant relatives? In the main canon all might mentioned that deku's mom reminded him a lot of his master, sure it was mainly her hairstyle But if it's taken a little further, we can infer that they are somehow related to one another probably distant cousins or perhaps shimura is like a great great aunt to inko or there's like different sides of the family that don't really have contact with one another for whatever reason and inko doesn't even know who shimura was. That would make sense with the potential explanation garaki gave being that deku's decay quirk possibly is a quirk if it skipped a generation. I don't think that's the direction they'll go based on what I've seen after all this is just a silly KZbin series so I'm probably overthinking it and then having the same quirk doesn't really need an explanation

With nen logic deku has to have THE BEST POTENTIAL OF ANY NEN USER EVER! with literally zero knowledge or training he was able to emit a strong enough aura to get fhe attention of a nen master like wing. At half the age Gon and Killua were when they kearned nen, all because he was being bullied! Literally the only nen users who have shown this much potential so far are Meruem and Tseridnich, the latter being a murdererous psychopath, and the former being THE STRONGEST CREATURE IN EXISTENCE, excluding Nanika, and any potential future dark continent nonsense

One thing that I absolutely love about any what if scenario in any media, and something that so many other channels that do what ifs get wrong, is making an actual effort to do character moments. So many other what ifs are just about how the plot and power scaling would change, not how the characters themselves would change or what kind of relationship they would have with one another due to whatever has changed in the story. Something that this channel with the two what ifs I've seen from it so far has gotten absolutely right
