Well, my very first concert was when I was 5 and my brother 9. My dad took us to a Pink Floyd laser light show, and we still laugh about it to this day because were positive my dad has no idea who Pink Floyd is 🤣🤣🤣 My dad also sat next to Ted Nugent on a plane coming home once. He asked us who he was because he was handing out autographs. My brother and I were so excited! Then we learned my dad didn’t want Ted Nugent’s autograph because he had no idea who he was 🤣🤣🤣 I have been to a Ted Nugent concert by the way. I’ve seen Cab Calloway perform as well as Wynton Marsalis, and I’ve seen James Gallway, also been to three operas. With that said, I’ve seen Jethro Tull, B-52s, Presidents of the USA, Verve Pipe, They Might Be Giants, Black Violins, and I was supposed to see Sinaed O’Connor back in the 90s. Plans fell through after I bought the ticket. I saw Sammy Hagar this past July. I’ll go see U2 with Thuy if they ever come back to town!

Hey, we moved here in 2010 also! Brian Johnson donated the music therapy room at SMH. Dickey Betts ( Alllman Brothers guitarist) had property in Osprey. Mick Jagger and Dick Vitale out in Lakewood Ranch. Oh, and Spring training baseball- don’t forget the Detroit Tigers are in Lakeland.

There’s a you tube channel called Dating Beyond Borders if you’re interested in what other dating traditions/customs are around the world. I like it because I just like to learn about other cultures.

When we lived in Brockton, ,my mom took me to the laundry mat with her. I was a baby still learning how to talk, but I guess I told an African American lady “dirty” when she tried to say hello to me. My mom was horrified and trying to apologize in her thick southern accent hoping the lady understood her about how I’d never seen a person of color before. From there on out, I was taught to see people and not color. When I was in kindergarten, I shared a locker with a little girl from India. She gave me lice twice, but I never griped about it, and eventually stood up for her on her playground. I also was made fun of on a field trip to the skating rink. I discovered the loaner kid just sitting there not having fun, so I helped him skate at least once before having to go back to school. He was the loaner kid because of a mental health handicap of some sort. I loved growing up in large cities and the diversity that comes with them. You meet a lot of awesome people!

I grew up in fairly diverse areas- MA and upstate NY. By the time I made it to MI, I found a huge divide. Unless you’re in the Detroit metro area, you aren’t going to see many folks of different backgrounds. It was very strange to me. As an adult, I once lived in KY and a cashier asked me where I was from. When I told her I just moved from MI, she said she thought I was British! 😂 The biggest thing I had with rude strangers was every single time I took my twins out in public. People automatically get closer to the boys and sometimes would touch them which really set me off. They were two months early and lived the first month of their life in the NICU, and then were quarantined for another six months. I hated people assuming they could just get up in their faces and touch them! They’d also ask all sorts of personal questions that were none of their business. So, one day I guess this irritated more and I asked the rude stranger “Why do you ask?” They totally got the message real quick that they overstepped a boundary. I say this now whenever people feel they can ask rude questions. Give I a try! My twins are 19 now, so we don’t get any questions about them anymore. 😂

I was born in Louisville. My mom's family is all from Louisville. The derby there is like a national holiday. Although I didn't grow up there, I lived there in my adult years. I never understand how horse racing was a sport. I wasn't popular during the derby 😅 I've been told numerous times about how strong a jockey needs to be to control those horses. With that said, I'm still wondering why car racing is a sport?
