What you call insurance policy (Finsteride) works really well when the loss is mild to moderate. If someone is gentically destinted to experience extreme hair loss, I don't see any scientific evidence for that insurance policy. Genetics will eventually win over the treatment after 5-10 years.
@GetLocklab16 күн бұрын
That's not the case with most men. I should 100% be genetically bald, and so should my brothers and we've all kept our hair now for about 6+ years with no further loss at all since we started taking Locklab. The powerful combination of high quality finasteride and 5MG per-day of oral minoxidil does the trick to stop hair loss in it's track for the thousands of guys who are on Locklab, but have very strong genetic dispositions towards being bald guys.
@simonepietrofelice16 күн бұрын
@GetLocklab what evidence do you have about you being 100% bald right now if you had not taken Finasteride? And what do you mean by 100% bald? like no hair on top and no hair on the donor at all? I remember you had several hair transplants and also that you stopped taking Finasteride for a while. The best way to check if Finasteride is really working on your genetics is to stop taking it. If you lose everything, donor included, then I'll see the evidence. If it was that easy as you say on extreme hair loss cases, there'd be almost no bald man under 40 these days considering Propecia was released in 1997. Yet there are more bald guys these days compared to 50 years ago. So I don't see any evidence of relevant success of Merck in solving extreme hairloss cases like NW6 or NW7++. Fin does work on mild to moderate hair loss cases for sure. The weaker the enemy the easier is for 5mg Finasteride to fight it, like your donor for instance..... but if the enemy is extreme......not even a jar of Dutasteride pills will save you from it. Good way to preserve the donor is to take Finasteride. I agree. As for the rest on top, Sorry bro...I don't see any evidence in preserving it, unless I see 100 guys with a thick head of hair going NW7+ 100% in 6 months after stopping the medication.

Thank you for the video. I’m 32 and I always wear a hat, mostly a baseball cap. My hair started to thin in my early 20’s and I went completely bald around 3 years ago. I shave my head completely and always wear a hat. This is my biggest handicap and it is giving lots of anxiety, I like how your guest used the word neurosis… that’s pretty much it. I wear it all the time and always think about it. That’s crazy and I look forward to when I will be able to go in public without a hat. I know that I will look back on my situation and think to myself that it was a sad part of my life. I feel like I need to get in better shape physically, learn how to style my beard properly, and be more confident overall to finally be able to get out without a hat. Feels like I am not ready yet…but it’s been such a long time and it plays so much in my life. I find it difficult to accept being bald but I will keep a positive attitude and I know that one day this struggle will be over.

*Is finasteride enough to stop hair loss from progressing forever as long as you continue to take it?* I began losing my hair at age 19 and was already a Norwood 2.5 at age 24 which is my current age. I just got my first hair transplant last month and I started taking finasteride (1mg a day) 2 months ago. I plan on taking finasteride for life to stop the rest of my native hair from falling out. *My main concern now is that the finasteride will eventually stop working because my genetics want me to reach a Norwood 6/7* Luckily my doctor told me I have a very good donor and I have enough donor hair for 2-3 surgeries. I had 1900 FUE grafts transplanted in my first hair transplant.
@GetLocklab22 күн бұрын
For most guys the combination of the 5 mg oral minoxidil and 1 mg oral finasteride of quality ingredients is enough to permanently stop their hair loss. I should be a Norwood 7 right now.

@@GetLocklab Good to know! *Do you think just 1 mg of oral finasteride a day is enough to stop hair loss long term?* Nothing against minoxidil personally, I just want to limit the amount of pills I take. I also don’t want to do topical minoxidil because I’ve tried it before and it’s so messy and makes my hair look so bad lol

There are lots of medical research to back up the fact that there are lots of different side effects people can experience. I think some people would be okay with the side effects and some would not. I think it one of those things were a person would have to try it to really know.

Hi David. I didn't have the opportunity to have ORAL Minoxidil made beforehand ( manipulated ) at the pharmacy. I only have a chance to order next Monday (the 4th) and I have medicine to take until Sunday (the 10th). I don't think the pharmacists will be able to produce my medication before the 10th. So I'll either have to take it every other day to make it work. Or, I normally take it daily and from the 11th I would have to stop taking it until I have the new medication... What is the best thing to do? Take it every other day? Or take it normally, and stop taking it when it runs out? .. What should I expect in both scenarios? Will there be consequences, like shedding for example? Thank you
@GetLocklab22 күн бұрын
Going let’s say 1 week without the medication will not make a significant difference in your results long term. I would suggest taking it every other day though, until you can get your refill.

You mean like continued one every few weeks or once a month type thing? I mean, this medication works. It's simple. Cost effective. And for the vast majority of people side-effect free. One pill per-day. You're done ...for about 97% that's all you need (unless you just want surgery to restore a hair line or something). I'd suggest just doing the simple solution that works. And if you want to augment with a great hair transplant at some point to get the hair line of your dreams if that's not something that you have then you can do that as well.

Hey John, Thanks! ...and funny enough the other comment on this video is from a guy basically asking the same thing. We have a lot of older guys (in their 50's and 60's) who get on Locklab and see a very noticeable positive improvement to the point they personally email us sharing their before and after results. So don't give up hope on improvement just because your "older" ;) ...excited to hear about your results once you've been on for a bit! :) Make sure to take good "Before" photos asap ...so that you can visibly measure your improvement over the next 12 months. It takes about 12 months to see the total extent of what you will "gain" ...then you should just keep that hair you gain (and the rest of your hair) from then on.

Of course it’s completely possible. Anytime you traumatize tissue scar tissue is a possible result, and it is harder to grow hair in scar tissue. That’s it, as long as you have an excellent surgeon and your tissue does not react in an unusual way it shouldn’t be much of an issue.
