Welcome aboard. I expect that seeing such experiences trivialised for Twitch dollars is rather irritating to say the least! As you know, the genuine series of events involves chasing a diagnosis you dread from a variety of actual specialists with long periods of worry and waiting in-between. The 'prize' is a curse with no simple solution/explanation that you spend the rest of your life trying to work with/around. It's not a quirky, neat adventure you can bundle up into a funny anecdote. I've yet to hear an example of someone being diagnosed with half a dozen acute mental health disorders by a GP during a ten minute appointment. But hey, why let reality get in the way of a good story and catchy tune?

Nothing about MH issues is fun; looking at a detainment under one of the various sections of the Mental Health Act is certainly a terrifying experience. I think it boils down to an exercise in catharsis and anti-fraud measures for me personally. The more I watch, the more ridiculous claims I hear, the less I believe that there's genuine substance to any of it. No diagnosis for anything, no prosecution for any of the allegations of abuse, just contradictory woe is me waffle and a begging bowl. Let's assume she *does* suffer from [insert one of ten conditions], does it look like she's seeking a solution rather than revelling in it for personal gain? Do anxious people really get on stage and perform to a live audience seven nights in a row? You go into any typical work place and you'll find several people currently battling with mental health issues. They don't wear them on a badge and party hat to manipulate special treatment and advantage. They're too busy fighting to fulfil their role and keep a roof over their head, driven by the fear of being sacked. Most people don't have the luxury of giving up and falling backwards into a comfy safety net.

Thought I would answer 3 of your questions because I am sick and tired of this person scamming people. is she purely a grifter, taking advantage of people or is she genuinly mentally ill? I personally think its all of the above. is it acceptable to attempt to highlight the former in the way you are doing? If is limits her ability to take adventage of people then yes it is acceptable. does it make it acceptable becuase she puts herself out there and therefore should be open to criticism? Shes not special and asnyone can be called out of their bullshit.

And of course, assuming there are genuine mental health concerns, there is the arguement that giving her no strings attached money to survive without work achieves the exact opposite of rehabilitation because it takes away the motivation to recover autonomously.

Just suppose that people "genuinely" feel sorry for her, but she is not genuinely in need? Is that not an immoral way to be? Are you saying perhaps that if you had the option to string weird men along for sympathy/horny money, you'd do it too? Let's leave aside the obvious dangers of egging weird little men on who think they are buying her affection, as this has been discussed many times before - obtaining money by deceitful means is not empowerment, and it's not clever. I've worked in the industry for years and telling people things like brakes will need replacing soon usually ends up with them nodding and forgetting about them or just outright ignoring the fact mostly because of price and they need their cars for work. They received a letter from the photographer's solicitor requesting payment to compensate their client for lost earnings. That was entirely genuine. Some KZbinr I can't remember the name of now paid it on their behalf which settled the matter, halting any further legal action which may have ensued.
