Was in South of France - 2000, backstreet bar in Cannes band played " I'm Only Sleeping " J. Lennon Beatles. The French eat this stuff up ! Fun factoid. Unfortunately, the lyric change doesn’t reflect the point of the first line which is to insult “us”, the “counterculture”. The lack of comprehension of the original lyrics is quite common. The first line of each verse is “them“ and the second line of each verse is “us“.

Most of the original songs beauty is in its tempo. Sadly this cover throws that out the window. Seems overly hurried, like you couldn't wait to finish the song. An opportunity wasted as you seemingly have an "ok" voice.

Many comments say that the singer is good but the band is not so good. The band seem to be middle-aged, but the female singer is young. Two successful French groups which began in the 1980s are 1) Les Rita Mitsouko, and 2) Niagara. In these cases, the group is formed from a man and a woman of similar ages as partners and they were under 30 years old. when they formed the groups They hired extra perfomers as they need for live concerts, and for some videos. Examples Video: Marcia Baila by les Rita Mitsouko, two videos by Niagara :Tchiki Boum and J'ai Vu (live). Some people have said that Niagara is similar to the Eurythmics. I don't know if that is so, I know more about French music of the 80s than British music. Other lesser known French groups of the 80s are Ici Paris (video: Stupide Petit Garcon de 1981), et Lili Drop (video: Sur Ma Mob).
