If the test was reduced to 25 dollars none of this would be a problem. It's literally causing us hundreds just to get License.

Why are Social Workers in need of passing an exam like Doctors and Nurses when Social Workers don't get pay and benefits like Doctors and Nurses?

What about social workers who have been working and "practicing" in the sector who have been unable to obtain licensure due to barriers with the exam in the first place?

They benifet from giving us a test that is not tied to the reality of the profession. It must be nice to be an LCSW, who takes valuable resources from the most vulnerable social workers. The ASWB and other testing sites are leaches! I ha e to again pay $300 for a test, I can barely study for, that uses certain techniques to answer, in which they do not provide appropriate study materials for, and do not explain the what next, which first... questions. Then, we also have to pay the NASW $260 a year, while we are jumping these hoops. I can't pay my membership this year, not until testing is over. When we are in the field, these capitalists exploit us and pay at low levels. Social workers need help, and the ASWB are part of the problem. $300 a shot, and you have to wait 90 days. What crap! They want you to fail, and then they come here and claim to care about the field. What do they think this burnout causes to the clients? Thanks for sucking our life away, therefore causing a lower quality of care for society. 🎉

I agree! I took the exam multiple times and will lose my medical SW job if I don't pass it before April 2024. No matter what I studied, paid, or who I paid, I even got accommodations for 2 extra hrs, and still didn't pass. Feel like dying :( We need this Proposal to pass. I know there are other Social workers who are struggling to pass this exam like us.

Yes I agree…. I have a MSW and carried my LLMSW for 7 years and took test twice and failed. Now I am only MSW which limits me on what kinds of jobs I can obtain, after spending over 100 K for my degree. We achieved that degree and that should speak for itself. I pray the rules change for us ….
