23:08 Tamiya Panzer IV D comes with incorrect late 40 cm tracks, and accordingly, the sprocket's teeth rows are separated to fit those tracks, so if they're replaced with correct 36 cm tracks, some modifications need to be made to the sprockets.
@thetroglodytesden2 ай бұрын
This is sth I didn't know and will definitely help me in future builds. But I found out that the teeth of the sprockets, even when sanded down, were still to far apart to fit the tracks. My conclusion was that these PanzerArt tracks might be a bit smaller than others. I'm not sure tho because I ended up replacing them altogether with other sprockets and tracks...

It's nice to see how you solve the problems that arises during a project. I always encounter problems including ones i caused. Too bad about the airbrush. When that happens to me, a combination of more thinner in the paint and higher air pressure solves the problem. Nice recovery by hand painting the camouflage.
@thetroglodytesden2 ай бұрын
It's a curse with the airbrush, I'm trying to figure out how to properly work with it but it's sooo hard. I'm planning on buying a better one tho because the one I have it's not that much of a good quality.. Also thanks for your kind words, they make me very happy!
@PeterModelQuatchiKwong2 ай бұрын
Very nice work on carving the stones. Why did you choose to put balsa wood around the foam instead of leaving the foam exposed and then paint the foam black? "Low quality duct tape.." that was funny.
@thetroglodytesden2 ай бұрын
Thank you! I guess I wanted it to look more presentable because it was a bit rough on each side... The black paint also adds to the looks I think but I'm trying other colours as well on other projects.

Give the model a coat of gloss varnish before you fix the decals, this will stop the paint problem. When the model is finished, just spray with a Matt varnish.
@thetroglodytesden2 ай бұрын
Great! Thank you for the tip, I'll do that next time...
@plasticbattle2 ай бұрын
@@thetroglodytesden Agree with the previous comment regarding gloss varnish. It would also help with proper settling of the decals. I can see some slight silvering of the carrying foil when the model is rotating. Gloss before decals, gloss over them and then flat varnish - will remove the silvering risk and also protect the paint.
@thetroglodytesden2 ай бұрын
@@plasticbattle You are right, I was pretty disappointed with that when I looked at the final shots but I didn't know how to fix it. The gloss varnish is on the way so the next decals Ill apply will look better for sure!😊😊😊
