I watched Phoebe Sanders play this on her Panjo and I had to find out it is a modern piece. Sure sounds like old Appalachia to me. Instant classic.

Awesome tune - I will learn this myself. Also innovative 2 finger style of the banjo too which I have never come across.

I was watching the way that Jim is holding his pick while flatpicking the guitar. I tried it. Immediately I got better tone. Thanks for the lesson Jim.

This song has been going through my mind for WEEKS. First heard it on the Navajo Rug CD, then chased down the original, Master John R. That led to this. Thanks a MILLION!!!!

Who is the banjo player?

Great mix, particularly the guitar. They so often get lost in there. It's good to hear it out front.

Does anyone play this AA B A? I am troubled by the tune ending on what might be termed the bridge and the last chord being the dominant. Or what the hey, it's the 21st century, time to toss all that tonality and form stuff out the window?

If the world were on fire, I would run in to save the .mp3 of this melody. Pefection, true and utter perfection. The muscianship, the music, the enviroment and the editing. Go to between 3:05 and 3:06 for just one example of genius muscianship and editing combined. Those two notes from the fiddle right there are just exquisit! Love from Devon, UK
