The fight/fligh/freeze voice is real. Like, when someone is upset my voice absolutely becomes "disarming", softer and more feminine. Its so hard to break out of this habit.

I’ve been on T for a little over 3 years and was disappointed in my voice. Your videos have helped me so much and I feel a lot more comfortable speaking.

I’ve been getting off benzos and noticed my throat squeezes shut more when I’m anxious. I imagine since we have less space to create sound, the thickening of vocal cords creates even less space, which makes it hard to talk if any inflammation were to occur in the vocal cords (I’m assuming they may swell if over exerted?!).

I had no idea this sort of study focus and training existed! I'd only heard of voice coaching in relation to acting or singing. This is wonderful, I'm so glad that you have helped pioneer this work, and appreciate the relaxed and natural way you present the facts. ❤

Oh thank the gods for the ❤sweet trans community❤. I'm just a 50yo ciswoman who happens to hate how croaky and harsh my voice is getting, but honestly, without you guys, I wouldn't have even known training your voice was possible! Your existence and openness brings hope and transformation to everyone! 🎉🥰🥰

I learned some neat stuff watching this, thank you! I'm transgender and I've been taking testosterone for a little under 2 years and I used singing warm ups and tutorials to teach myself how to sing (and speak) in my preferred range. I went from an alto to a bass.

Great! Important question: how did you actually do that? Saying that we need to change the size of the vocal tract doesn’t help. We need to know how to do it.
