I remember it was the end of my sophomore year and I was getting ready to go out for a run. I don't know what stopped me or if I went for a run or just came back but I do remember having a power outage for 2 days after that day. I'm here remember this day because we had a tornado warning earlier today. That storm didn't come close to this one.

I believe that is the EF0 that touched down 2 blocks from my apartment on the 7600 block of west 63rd St. and kept lifting and dropping after crossed Harlem to the NE into the Midway Airport area where it tore up a bit around 55th St & Central to Kedzie correct? BTW, I was wondering what repeater you are active on? I have been known to check in when spotter activation is in effect myself as an active Ham operator but I'm not sure where to go to get certified wx spotter training/refresher course these days? Used to be at a local firehouse that doubled as ESDA substation in Bridgeview if I remember correctly (?).. thanks for the video although I thought you guys were going to be carjacked on 63rd in Englewood about a minute into the video,lol. 73

I was at work in Chelsea Michigan when this happened. Shift supervisor got on the PA and told everyone to go to the shelter area and wait for the all-clear. I remember the sky was already looking pretty grim early that afternoon on the drive to work, and it was extremely muggy as well. I had a very uneasy feeling that something bad was going to happen later.

Chicago will mainly get a microburst but if you lived west or south of Chicago, then you're at a greater risk of seeing a tornado because it's flatland

It doesn't matter if there is too much lightning a tornado can still form. The tornado in Joplin proved to us that they can form. I'm a certified storm chaser I know this.
