Stop mixing communism terminologies with the Kenya Land and Freedom Army. Need I remind you Stalin and Kruschev were nowhere to be found in the early and late fifties to supply the Mau Mau with weapons and intelligence on the frontline. I don’t have contacts but someone like toyin Falola would be a great guest. He’s someone who has written extensively on matters of relevance to pan Africanists and he’s done projects that give us more understanding of matters like professor walker spoke about today such as the continuity of africa in the diaspora and how things have changed over time. He’s also someone who values african aesthetics (from art, to methods of design and so forth).

We did not really hear what UBUNTU IS or how it is applied. This is the main point - without this understanding - "You Get Capitalism and Communizism": In UBUNTU - The host provides for you, so you can provide for yourself! Once you are established, you can provide for yourself ; but you will not "grow" if you fail to provide for others. AND Note -should others refuse to grow, "THEIR RESULTS ARE AS THEY CHOOSE":

Capitalism is anti social, impatient and psychopathic wealth concentration system driven by the exploitation of resources and labor power. And due to the crises it generates as a result of its expansion - anti-social pathologies (alienating people from each other, from nature etc.), and it’s internal imperatives for coherence and constant violence to resolve these processes or to bring them into existence, I.e. colonization gradually bringing africa into the capitalist process, we get increasing dependency on capitalism and thus a further subjugation to the imperatives of capital. Capitalism is an impersonal force that is also simultaneously wielded by people doing things/ trying to survive or actively exploiting others for the sake of resource accumulation and transformation of nature into commodities through some labor process. Capitalism changes over time, capitalism is not equal to markets, and a “free market” is also a myth which masks the making of money, and reliance on law enforcement necessary for markets to function… I.e. markers have costs/markets literally are not free. Walter Rodney was a Marxist/at least heavily influenced by Marx. He also was influenced by people he was in Tanzania with at the time he wrote his book such as Immanuel wallerstein and arighi /the world systems theorists. There’s also an interesting Nigerian economist from around that time named bade ominode or something like that. He wrote book named something along the lines of “a theory of the African crisis”. It would be interesting to see if you can track down others who may have followed the lines he was going down, which included trying to understand the working of African states better and how to theorize about them: which was at his time around the 80s and 90s. What we need to do, is not also merely gain this consciousness and engage in these practices, process of development etc. but also we need to develop alternative economic forms and seek to protect/work on forms of enforcing new ways of doing things/cultures and defending against assaults from forces like the state and para military goons. Especially among the unemployed/never employed. It’ll be through wealth producing and subsistence activity tied to a new project of existing/ a reemergence of pan-Africanist practice that we can start actualizing what mahenga Anta diop was talking about.
@The_capital_group29 күн бұрын
Further a lot of criticism of Marxism and communism come from ignorant places. In fact most of what Marx wrote wasn’t widely available until like the late 70s to mid 80s. Which included his correspondence with people from India, and Russia at the time. And his admissions that what he is talking about is mostly applicable to Western Europe, and that others should do more to understand and make sense of the rest of the world and the entrenched struggles there. And the people that sought him out in India and Russia called out some of the flaws in his thinking on those areas which he would then go to reconsider. I’m not saying we shouldn’t have criticisms/be critical in our thinking. We should be very clear and good in our critical thinking and understanding of the world, and we should be good at picking what’s strong from different struggles and learning from that. Marx and Engels were, in their earlier life especially, caught up in bloody struggles against their emerging capitalist states and writing in reflection of those experiences. Further, you can’t understand a lot of the thinking of Nkrumah in books like neocolonialism, or class struggle without recognizing his engagements with the works of Lennin and Marx for example. Lenin wrote the book “imperialism the highest stage of capitalism” for example.
@The_capital_group29 күн бұрын
I wish diop had more time to critically engage with Walter Rodney, and other Marxists and anarchists, cause when it comes to matters like what is “modern state”/ how does it come about/what is it for/what does it do, I think insights from anarchists and Marxists are useful and should be developed further. That brings about questions like how is such a thing sustained, what brings it about in the first place, how is it maintained, why is it there and what does it do. I.e. questions that relate to matters like class (how are these people fed, what power do they wield (guns, cutting edge technology etc.)). Anarchists often think about matters like the unity between desired ends/goals and the means to achieve those. I.e. if there’s a revolution brought about by armed force, what kind of revolution is that/what do those conditions lead to subsequently (class society? Tyranny, greater emancipation of masses?). How do these things transform people/how do they relate to pre-existing conditions (capitalism, private property, patriarchy, sexism etc. etc.). Marxists often have a lot of agreements with anarchists historically, they just often differ over the state and how quickly the state should become obsolete. For Lenin the state was supposed to be used to defend the revolution and over time to be transformed into a tool to abolish class through the establishment of the dictatorship of the property less (I.e. the proletariat), as opposed to how Marxists characterize the capitalist state as the dictatorship of capital. But these conceptions of the state are a bit incomplete and we need to have one that historically accounts for African states and how they’ve changed over time - and they have changed substantially since the 80s for example.

They don’t have a cure for aids. But in California they advertise this medication that supposedly makes one undetectable if they get tested, and they also make the virus untransmitable. They also advertise it as a preventative/preemptive measure for lgbtq people. On the Walter Rodney thing. Someone should work on updating it, and I’ll add that not only are things dumped in Africa, including in Nairobi where we have literal garbage from the uk and us imported. There’s a suppression of African industries to protect market share, and keep wages low (as there isn’t labor being absorbed in other activities). In so far as there should be a lot of theorizing done, there needs to be more work done on fathoming how African states work/what they do/have done. This can help us understand things a bit better like taxation policies and why they behave the way they do with MNC’s and the lack of foreign policy. And even deeper fake pan African organizations like the African Union (completely devoid of any fruitful foreign policy or developments), and the African development bank(which now is basically an extension of the world bank, including with the fact that for a while countries like the us and Japan are members of it with substantial power).
@The_capital_group29 күн бұрын
Capitalists need to dump excess stuff in foreign markets to suppress competition, to minimize sunk costs in production, and to avoid flooding certain markets as to avoid driving down prices. Some things are produced but can’t be sold in some markets because they fail to meet standards, or because of worries over turnover time from production to sale (I.e. a good window to turn a profit). An easy example is in the us when a sports team wins they have merchandise “Boston Celtics 2024 nba champions)” ready for sale immediately. So they need to do something with the other goods produced that become obsolete (Dallas mavericks 2024 nba champions). There’s also toxic waste materials, and some of these are absorbed in military arsenals or just dumped in places like Somalia. A lot of toxins have been dumped in Somalia in the midst of the wars there, and in part contributes to piracy as now some rivers there are polluted and the fish just die.

The book has not been published yet. The first batch will be published for distribution in the Diaspora but that doesn’t stop you from purchasing from South Afrika if you want to get it. The current prices are structured to cater to the salaries of those in the Diaspora. We will have a second phase where the prices will be reduced to cater for those at home, in Our Motherland because of the economic differences and underdevelopment of Our Motherland by these imperialists where the Diaspora reside. I hope this makes sense.

Very good analysis my sister! I'm so glad that Baruti told me about your channel. I will say that ultimately, the removal of the dollar as the world's reserve currency, along with the cut off of access to African resources and a canceling of the false debts imposed upon African states are what will spell the death knell of the wyt western empire. This can only be brought about by a continental African governance which bears real sovereignty and includes the African Diaspora within its governing structure. Such a body can align with or support groups within other nations which are also aligned against the current corpocracy. I think we must put some focus on the underlying structure that can support a unified African collective which must include internal control over communication, defense, commerce and the establishment of international supply chains, and most importantly. cultural unity across all borders. We have to have a structure that empowers our masses with the tools necessary to free ourselves and defend that freedom and create the spark that engenders a conflagration of liberation within the hearts and minds of the majority of our population. I am very thankful for the dedication, focus and courage of you and your colleagues. Those of us who can accept nothing less than a free and empowered African people rooted in our ancient history and traditions must find ways to build capacity with each other. Asante for all your contributions!
