Your partner pullover by Lydia Morrow is gorgeous!!! I'm trying to make the same sweater in the stripe color option, but I'm getting stuck carrying the color pattern at the sleeve increases. Noooo clue what I'm doing wrong, but I've restarted so many times trying to get it correct
@Thx-I-made-it3 ай бұрын
Thank you!!! Increasing in pattern was a challenge. If you have access to a 12” circular I would definitely start there. Trying to tension in magic loop and with DPNs made it more difficult. Also, I would put stitch markers around your solid central column color and make your increases on the inside of those additional markers. Keeping the “new” stitches grouped made identifying color changes a lot easier for me. You might try sketching out your first few increases/color pattern too!!! Good luck I would love to hear how your project goes! :)
@sydney93323 ай бұрын
@@Thx-I-made-it Thanks for the tip!! are you essentially making increases on one side of the central column? the way it's written is so confusing lol (at least for an intermediate/beginner)
@Thx-I-made-it3 ай бұрын
@sydney9332 you’re making increases on either side of the center column! So you’ll knit the center column, increase 1 stitch, knit until you reach the beginning of round marker on the opposite side of the center column and increase 1 more stitch (+2 sts). Hopefully I’m not confusing you more hahaha

I would knit with the stitch please. I would expect it to be of similar quality to cascade 220, (the worsted version that was so named because each skein had 220 yds). Or knit picks WOTA. I'll have to try it and find out

I over-dyed a jumper once, a long time ago. It was white and had yellowed in a couple of places. I dyed it a dark purple with a Rit dye. It worked well and I wore it for a few years. The only suggestion I have is to choose a dark or strong colour, and follow the dyeing instructions closely. In my experience, lighter coloured dyes are usually last more risky (ie, to get an even, lasting colour).
@Thx-I-made-it Жыл бұрын
Great tips, thank you! I've used black and navy Rit dye on cotton clothing in the past, and definitely had better success when I pre-soaked the garment. I think this helps the dye bind to the fibers more uniformly. I've been browsing the Rit color recipe page quite a bit and hopefuly I'll be able to make up my mind soon!
