Okay huge question. Do you have a pink and white (check engine) wire? And if so where did you connect it on your cluster? Please respond

Reach up under that dash on driver's side, locate the blue box that looks about the same shape and size as the one fuel relay, pull it out and throw it in the glove box. That ding, ding, ding is SO annoying!!!! One of the first things I pull out of all my 240 is that pesky ear sore! Otherwise, GREAT video and love your collection! Thanks for taking the time to make a wonderful video!

Thank you! Just got my first 240 (also a black one) and am having the same problem. I already replaced the fuel relay and it didn't fix the problem and my 4th fuse has no power so I'm gonna try what you did in the video and hopefully it works!🤞

Good video. My father has a Volvo 240 estate and later a 1986 built 740 estate. I drove the 740 and it was a very nice car to drive with great steering lock. The H pattern manual gear stick was made of solid metal and felt like it could last a million miles. Had the 740 for 16 years. The 740 had gotten involved in a slight accident to the front right fender (like your car) even before my father owned it. Unfortunately this meant that there was some water ingress and eventually, over 16 years later, the accumulated water in the base of the chassis rusted away a lot of the thickness of the solid metal floor. The car eventually failed it's British ministry of transport MOT annual test because of this. Being 22 years old. The mechanic who performed the inspection said that he was very surprised, as Volvo cars are so solidly built. If it wasn't for that accident that caused the water ingress, then that car might still be around today. It was a reliable car.

Viktor is a 1991 245 and when I turn the key sometimes the fuel pumps don't come on. I ran this procedure and pumps came on and he started? Any help is appreciated.

Check your ignition barrel. Had a wire on it melt on one of 240s which caused a no start

Want to thank you for this video I took my 87 240 dl to a mechanic and they said it was the gas pump And it was replaced. But two days later the same happened it wouldn’t start. I went through all your tests and yes it was the fuse. It wasn’t burnt out but the fuse holder was all corroded inside. So I replaced it with the exact parts you mentioned in your video and what do you know it started with hesitation😅. Many thanks for your great videos !!

This video just saved me! Thank you very much. My 240 wouldn't start - it's been very rainy - no fuel pump whine/priming on ignition. It was looking like a failing fuel pump relay, but none of the ones I've got fixed it. The fuse wasn't gone, but the connections were all badly corroded.

Great video! You just have to love these old volvos. I just picked up a 92 one owner wagon, and have the same problem with it. My other 240 has the fuse under the hood, but darn if I can find it's location in the 92 wagon.

Did you fill the transmission with ATF Dexron 2 / 3? Any other and the transmission is blown. ZF is the "not the best" tramsmission. AW 71 is the one you want to have.

I inherited my mother's 1989 244 DL Volvo in August, 2010, she was the second owner, and the car was well serviced & maintained. BUT, once I moved away from the San Francisco Bay Area to a rural county in Northern California, the Volvo has required deep monetary pockets to main under the hood as well as the exterior--- car was repainted 9/2013...yes, my 244 Volvo looks quite handsome, it hums, 259K miles today, automatic with over drive (7) Volvos later.. trying to locate 2006 Volvo S60, my daughter is 5'10" and definitely needs more leg room. Happy Volvo parts hunting ...have had to buy parts from as far away as Portland, Oregon and South Carolina.

There is an “L” shaped metal tube (‘93) It goes under the steel edge plate on one side. The other side sits against the black lever on the back of the odometer. Rear Dif . speed sensor cable?
@blakelit8296
@blakelit8296 2 жыл бұрын
When you push the button on the very lower left of the cluster there is a long thing in that tube that manually pushed that little forked lever up. It resets your service engine light to come on next time it rolls whatever Volvo has the oil change mileage recommended. It’s only on the cars With the big clock instead of a boost gauge.

Speed sensor is electrical, never a cable. Your thinking Speedometer cable, but it would attach to the speedometer right? Lol .
