Hey demonite, i am thinking of getting back into bl2 im on ps4 this will be my third time completing the game with all classes and the grind of farming perfect parts and getting all the way up to uvhm, with all classes again is grueling....is there anyway for me to copy a save to ps4? And do you ever speak to derch i miss seeing older bl2 people posting, glad you do.
@DemoniteBL11 күн бұрын
I think if you own the game on PS3, you can transfer your PC saves to PS3, then upload them to the cloud storage and download them again on PS4. Haven't heard of Derch, no.

Do you have a recommendation for mid level build for leveling up. On the current playthrough I have been doing I have a lvl 33 axton and I just don’t know what tree to prioritize. Parts of me thinks the first one for longer turret duration and eventually slag turret. But I don’t know if it’s smart to just go straight down or if I should be picking up some other mid tree skills from the other 2 trees first.
@DemoniteBL17 күн бұрын
Going 50/50 in the left and middle trees works pretty well at that level, Scorched Earth + Longbow Turret is a really good combo. After that you're free to spend additional points where they fit into your build. Best thing to do would be to adjust it depending on the best gear and especially class mods you have, it's usually worth it to swap points around a bit to make sure you get class mod boosted skills. Once you reach UVHM Double Up is gonna be your best friend. So for lvl 33, something like this: bl2skills.com/commando.html#55000100005505010010000000000000

Small addition: At 2:09 I forgot to mention the Party Line and Tediore lasers in TPS. The Party Line spawns fireworks on its reload that don't deal grenade damage, instead they behave just like the fireworks of shots (aside from dealing more damage). Thrown lasers emit shock beams towards nearby enemies like Tesla grenades, but those don't deal grenade damage either.

1:10 Grenade damage is not always multiplicative to other buffs. 🤦♂️ People also always say this about elemental damage, how it’s always multiplicative. Neither of these are true. The truth is that EVERY type of damage buff is multiplicative to every other type. If you have multiple grenade buffs, they will be ADDITIVE with each other. Same for elemental buffs. Because multiplying will always be stronger that adding (for generating a larger outcome), you want your buffs to be as close to equal across the board, so that the most damage is being multiplied. (Ex: 1.5*1.5 > 1.4*1.6 > 1.3*1.7 etc) The only reason it’s generally better to have elemental and grenade damage buffs is because the skill trees, gear, and BAR offer a lot off gun damage buffs than elemental and grenade damage, meaning it’s almost certainly better to bring elemental and grenade damage up than to being gun damage up. But, if you had a build with a ton of grenade damage or elemental damage buffs in a way that it somehow outnumbered the gun damage buffs, you’d instead want to try to buff your gun damage more.
@DemoniteBLАй бұрын
Sure, grenade damage is additive to other grenade damage buffs and multiplicative to anything else, maybe I should've worded it differently. But it's not true that this goes for all types of buffs. As shown at 1:18, grenade damage multiplies Amp damage (also the case for elemental damage), which gun damage usually doesn't do. In the case of Krieg's buzz axe it also multiplies roid damage, again something that regular melee damage buffs don't do. A few types of buffs are also a bit more complicated in their calculations can't really be said to be either additive or multiplicative to other buffs, but those are luckily rare. It's also worth pointing out that grenade damage is a singular type of buff, unlike, for example, gun damage or melee damage, which are umbrella terms for many different types. Two skills can say "+10% gun damage" and either add to or multiply each other, while two skills that say "+10% grenade damage" will always be additive to each other. In that way I think it's fair to say that once you have added all grenade damage values together, that final value will always multiply everything else. Of course the same can be said about any singular type of buff, but the game doesn't make it clear what those are in many cases, while grenade damage is unambiguous. The way the community labeled damage types is technically a bit incorrect, but probably easier to understand for people unfamiliar with damage calculations. "Regular" damage buffs, like most gun damage buffs, are often called additive buffs, even though any type of buff is always additive to itself. Things that aren't additive to those "regular" buffs are then called multiplicative, like Maya's Reaper. I personally prefer calling them "Type A", "Type B" and so on, which is what I use for my guides about various damage types. Maybe I could make a short video about this at some point for clarification.
@sxeychick9622Ай бұрын
@@DemoniteBL that’s because Amp damage is a gun damage buff. Additive with gun damage. Multiplicative with other types. Exactly like I said. Same for roid damage being additive with melee damage.
@DemoniteBLАй бұрын
@@sxeychick9622 Except that gun damage ≠ gun damage. What you're referring to are only Type A gun damage buffs. Skills like Reaper, Money Shot, B0re and various others do multiply Amp damage as well as Type A gun damage buffs, even though they all just say "+x% gun damage", like any other skill. There are also so-called "PostAdd" buffs, which are calculated separately from any other type and then get added on top. Those are neither additive or multiplicative to other buffs. And then there are buffs like Immolate, Wintertide or Integrity which all have unique calculations, each behaving differently and having unique interactions with other buffs or things like Amp damage.
@ZetaDaemonАй бұрын
@@DemoniteBL well, gun damage is gun damage, its just the game is terrible with descriptions Amp is postadd gun damage, same with no kill like overkill reaper is "high health bullet damage", bullet in damage source, not projectile type moneyshot is the last shot in clip bonus, but only applies to "bullets" directly so it wont apply to any projectiles like launchers shoot and then wont ever apply to the bonus splash of bullets then bore is the "bullet penetrate damage bonus" which then only applies to "bullets" again like moneyshot
@DemoniteBLАй бұрын
@@ZetaDaemon Yeah, that's basically what I meant. I know all these things can be distinguished from one another in the code, but none of that is communicated to the player in-game, so saying something like "gun damage is always additive to gun damage" can be misleading. And for the sake of making things easy to understand, I would still refer to all of these things as a "type" of gun damage buff in a guide (like Type A, B, C and so on), since that's most likely what a new player would look for to gain info on how certain skills that use the term "gun damage" work. Although it might be worth a consideration to add the "real" names to my google documents, even if just in a footnote or something.

Really been wanting to play this again. How do you get to OP10? How many times do you need to run Digistruct Peak after you get to 80? do you retain the previous 8 OP levels?
@DemoniteBLАй бұрын
Sadly Gearbox screwed over anyone who didn't get the Lilith DLC for free. You need it in order to reach OP levels at all, they basically took away content from people without the DLC. If don't have it, you're stuck at 72 and can't go further. I don't quite remember how already existing characters are handled, I believe they are still able to use their "OP8" (lvl 80) gear but you can't go into OP levels, whether you unlocked them or not. So, if you don't have the DLC, you will unfortunately have to pay. If you do own it, just lvl up to 80 and then go through the Peak 10 times.
@RaptchurАй бұрын
@@DemoniteBL I own it. I played it. I have probably 6 out of 20+ characters at level 80. All the rest are at 72 OP8. Just did not do any DP runs because i didn't want to farm all the guns and equipment again. Im on PS5 so can't just give them to myself. Well i mean i did in the first place lol. But cannot anymore. So i have to do 10 more runs on the Peak? The 8 OP levels at 72 count for nothing at all? Also thanks for the reply. Glad to see you post a new vid. Those linked guides have been bookmarked and just make me want to play even more.
@DemoniteBLАй бұрын
@@Raptchur I'm not sure, probably easiest to just do one run through and see how far the game lets you go. If you can go all the way to OMGWTH, then you presumably only need to do 2 runs.

@@DemoniteBL Yeah good call. If i get to the saturns i'll know
@NiceGameIncАй бұрын
@DemoniteBL players that got to op8 before have to do 2 runs in total to get to op10. The game actually wants them to redo op8 rather than start with op9 which I think is a bit weird, because this way op10 dp doesn't have to be cleared in order to be unlocked for the character.

@@Raptchur Which is why I'm of the opinion that every game with some sort of damage calculation also needs on-hit damage numbers. Try figuring out how damage works in old Monster Hunter games without looking through the games code. Even the newer ones with damage numbers are convoluted as hell. lol
@RaptchurАй бұрын
@@DemoniteBL I didn't play the older ones. Did not know they didn't have dmg numbers. I have 3k hours in both Rise and World. When i made that comment i was thinking directly of a game called Wild Hearts. It failed miserably at launch and therefore does not have great info out there about it. I like the game despite it's flaws and have to do so much testing to see how long activated skills last for and what if anything is mulitplicative, etc. But yeah even though same genre, MH just has so many more skills and combos of skills than WH so it's not that bad. Especially Sunbreak. There were so many skills that you could really go with a number of different builds to reach roughly the same peak damage.
@DemoniteBLАй бұрын
@@Raptchur Heh, that's exactly how I feel about God Eater and why I want to make videos about it. Not nearly as popular as MH and as such little info about it online. That's funny you said that because i got on it just 2 days ago then went into the training room and realized i completely forgot how to play it and had no idea what build i was running or what i was doing with my weapon upgrades or anything lol. Yeah WH is good. Definitely worth it for a cheap price. Just nowhere near the content that a MH has. But the combat is fun even if the monsters are cheap and not that well designed. I've come to the conclusion that the player has a giant hitbox with all weapons because the Kemono are bullshit lol. But yes, i've heard it has it's problems on PC so an upgrade would help.
