Was playing cute games like mario and sonic the hedgehog. Lo and behold pop this in and it's a demon that chopped up and was eating a bunch of villagers. It was very unexpected and it took me about a good 5 minutes to really conisder what i was playing.

How I defeated the Butcher went something like this: I got all the way down to the bottom of the first area only to be blocked by a goblin or imp telling me something like "I had to go back or whatever", I clearly just noticed I missed out on something . Long story short I go back up and eventually face this monster called The Butcher whom the characters talk about and didn't think much more of "this looks like the right way". Fast forward to my cousin and I talking about this game; he says "the Butcher's a real rage-quitter, isn't he?" And Im like "Well....."

There wasn't enough diversity already present here... They had to add a brown wahmen in remake. Also, why is Isaac's wife so ugly in the remake?

They warned me about this guy and he still scared the hell out of me. Years later, this game is more enjoyable than most new releases.

What really adds to this is that there no change in the music. No dynamic shift to an upbeat "this is a boss battle" just carries on the brooding, eerie music as the Butcher chases after you.

The butcher is very hard the first time u enter his level i advice to ignore the quest to kill him and comeback later after u become stronger for replayers

I used to play this game with my dad when I was about 5. I’ve grown up with it and it never scared me. I’d sit in his lap and tell him what to do and ask him questions and the butcher was my favorite character

You may have got the remodified or reversion. You need to do something first to open a portal towards the butcher in the door you open

i remember killing this boss by cheesing it he got stuck at the tomb and i shot my arrows at him, bad design for the boss to be the ultimate bullet sponge my god did it take forever to kill him. stopped playing the game right there.
