Very well trained!!! Great video and a wonderful dog. But I think German Shepard is the best all around breed in the world. Plus they want to make you happy. They have been trained to do everything. Your best friend!!!

These dogs are incredible. Just unreal, and also, needless to say, so are the handlers!!!!!! It's been forty five years since I've been involved in this sport, and it's beautiful.

Is it normal, and expected, for the dog to crowd the handler like that?? I've never done any IPO, but plan to in the future. I've only done, AKC, basic obedience, decades ago, and if I remember correctly it was a fault if your dog crowded you. TIA.

If you can't train your dogs without punishment you are simply not good and/or patient enough. If you think reward based training is only good for "tricks" you should start to aducate yourself further.

Cool story bro, show me your dog. I bet you haven’t finished 7th in the Shutzhund world championships, (the most well respected dog sport in terms of training ability).
@macaalf82194 жыл бұрын
@@criktun3346 Probably would have finished higher up if they trained without punishment. It is the arrogance of the successful trainer that hinders them to advance further. I don't train "Schutzhund", I almost exclusively work in behaviour modification.

As I understand it from watching a discussion with a couple of top level competition decoys, decoy and helper are two different things with different skill sets. The decoy is trained in movements to test the dog for the judge during the trial. The helper has experience with dog behavior/thresholds and helps build the dog in training.

Hi I’m a German Shepard. I remember when I first started my training. Oh the fun times we had. My handler was a bit crude but I guess it was for my best although it was a bit weird when they kept touching my testies. I can hardly wait to see my son achieve what I have or even better. Thank you Germany!!

Excellent video. Quick, easy to understand and interesting. Q: In the case of a male shepherd, does having them neutered make them more trainable? Or to put it another way, are they easily distracted during training if they are still intact? Thank you.
@snubblebubble49373 жыл бұрын
Typically, leaving a male intact is preferable for sport and protection dogs because testosterone contributes to drive, and makes the dog more intense.

Training a GSD is very easy, they like to work or train. But they are very smart and don't tolerate fools easily. They are for serious owners only~!
