Born and raised here in the O.C. At 66 years old here's my take (and I'm NOT a RE agent!). Currently, I live in Lake Forest for the last 10 years. Prior to that, I lived in South Laguna Beach for 19 years. I grew up in Anaheim and graduated from a high school in Anaheim in 1975 Here we go: In one sentence, Orange County is very close to the perfect county to live in! Weather, of course! Law enforcement (i.e: crime). We have pockets, mostly Santa Ana, Anaheim and Stanton, other than that most of the independent city PD forces and the OCSD are top notch! Backed up by Mr. Todd Spitzer, D.A and we put that sewer north of us to shame! OK, the elephant in the room! Yeah, it's crazy expensive here, and worst down here in S. O.C.......BUT it keeps out the lowlifes to a large degree!

Yes, Eastside Costa Mesa borders Newport Beach and typically has higher property values. That’s not to say that Westside Costa Mesa isn’t an incredible option to call home as well though. Lived here for a little at my grandparents house in the southeast area (standard and McFadden) and it was bad shootings, police activity, homelessness and a lot of gangs. we never went to the neighborhood parks since they were to dangerous I still visit there about twice a month and it is still a bad area

bars are mostly of young 21-24 years old (stag bar, malarkey's, Mutt Lynchs). Older bars are full of super old white ppl, overall night life is limited not like LA or San Diego. Sometimes ppl go to Cosa mesa, laguna, or Huntington Beach. overall Newport Beach is great place live. Been living here since 2019. can't find any where besides San Diego where I would like to live and raise a family. it is ritzy and boujee, luxury cars are the norm it could use some diversity with ppl but overall ppl are nice. I'm a dark skinned brotha btw (black duhhrrrr). School district is good but not as good as Irvine or Fullerton.

ok i gave u pass on the whole tourism boogyman. but marine layer? seriously? i live in here and from the first day i came here, its one of the things i love the most. why are u crying about it? and fun fact: the marine layer exists in all the Beach Cities not just Orange County

I was visiting there once… walking down the street, minding my own business, and some dude that worked at a clothing store on the other side of the street started talking smack about my jeans… out of style… hilarious! So we exchanged polite insults and went out separate ways. But Laguna is a very pretty place… with a lot of traffic… like pretty much all of OC.

50 years resident of NB. Dover Shores is very nice but bad airport noise. Same with East Bluff and Back Bay Area.

Check out Newport Height. Big lots and quiet. Lido Island. Island living with better parking and more quiet than Balboa Island. No renters. Port Streets in CDM is also good. West Newport around PCH is trash.

1071 Santa Rosa Ave, Costa Mesa, CA 92626. The corrupt real estate industry loves to make things as difficult as possible. New rules will go into effect this summer. We'll no longer have to hire a buyer's agent. We can just work with the seller's agent. I found the address by searching with Costa Mesa and a price of $1,495,000. KZbin won't let me give you the website I used. Good luck!

@@livinginoc In 2008, I called the listing agent of my home and asked if I could see the home without a buyer's agent. I was told 'no' without explanation. I knew a buyer's agent was 'free', but I'm smart enough to know that nothing is free (the buyer's agent's fee ends up being added to the sale price). Your industry is a cartel, which is why your industry is being sued nationwide. I'm also a class member in the Burnett v. NAR et al case, that started all this litigation.

@@larryjones9773 You have every right to see homes without a buyers agent, that has never changed. A buyer's agent certainly does not work for free though, nor should they (their fee is rarely added to the sale price). Congrats on your settlement.. As both a listing and buyer agent myself, I'm looking forward to the changes and transparency coming to the industry. With that said I would never recommend purchasing a home unrepresented for a multitude of reasons.
