I'm always surprised you don't hear more telecasters used in jazz. I think the neck position offers up great and unique tones for jazz, and that's not to say the middle or bridge options wouldn't sound great either, the neck is just more of a traditional jazz sound, at least compared to the other pickup options.

@@matthewmead2374 I actually dig Teles on jazz! I had a mate who used one for years playing jazz, always neck pickup with the tone rolled off but it was beautiful!

Hi there! I'm back, Sorry it's been so long, have been working on some other projects! Writing some original music! (although quite different to this) Here it is, finally the Eb version of My Stevie Ray Vaughan video! Remember if you havn't tuned down, you have to play a fret down from where the notes are normally (and in the pictures) Let me know what you want more of whether it's backing tracks, guitar tips, etc. Might get back to one video a week!

In the first octave you played the sharp 7 and in the second octave you played the 6th. Not sure if that was intentional or not.

Hey there! Yeah that’s the whole point of the video :) showing you can use extra notes to add to the blues scale. So in the first octave I’ve added the 7(or Maj 7) and in the second octave the 6 (or the 13 as it’d often be referred to there)… however in my demonstration at the end I did accidentally play the 3rd out of habit 😅

Classical guitarists use that technique a lot. When I was studying jazz guit in college, I discovered that technique seeing my classical guit friends doing it.

this is the same concept as striking behind the nut. the reduced string length and increased tension behind where you're fretting allows you to create high pitched notes
