Que bonito las orquestas de antes que TODOS los músicos estaban ahí y hacían música linda, hoy todo es a computadora, no es lo mismo

Criminally underrated artist. Bert Kaempfert is from my hometown Hamburg and most people in Germany dont even know his name

I am from the U.S. and I most definitely know who Bert Kaempfert was. Man, I grew up on his music when I was a kid back in the 1970s. It was a big part of my family's music collection. I wonder if had he not died in 1980, if he would have agreed to embark on a tour of the U.S. with his orchestra. I am certain he would have sold out every show.

I grew up in South Africa and knew who Bert Kaemfert was. We heard his music very offen on the Afrikaans radio station. Love his music still today.

The untimely passing of Bert Kaempfert left a void in the world of musical entertainment. We are the less without him. He was a musician par excellence.

So Bert Kaempfert is the one that gave Ivo Robich's song to Frank Sinatra, now I got it! And he even got award for Robich's song! I don't judge, but he should mention the name of the author, it wouldn't hurt. Ivo Robich composed "Ta ljetna noch" and offered it to one Croatian festival, but jury hadn't accept it. Robich went to Germany, became popular and nicknamed "Mr Morgen". He collaborated with Bert Kaempfert. Unlike Croatian musical jury, Kaempfert liked "Ta ljetna noch" (That Summer Night) when he heard it and he made arrangement for Ivo's song. Also Kaempfert found a translator so "Ta ljetna noch" became very popular "Fremde in der nacht". I remember my ole man playing Bert Kaempfert's music all the time in the 60's. Bert's music, along with other easy listening artists like Billy Vaughn, Percy Faith, and many others, has stayed with me all these years, just great music. RIP dad, Bert, Billy, and all the other greats he listened to. Good music never dies.

Correction: Billy Crystal's uncle was Milt Gabler. Herbert Rehbein worked with Keampfert on scores.

First time seeing this jewel of a documentary short. Without Bert Kaempfert producing the Quarrymen's first record in Hamburg there likely would have been no Beatles. Comedian Billy Crystal's uncle Herbert Rehbein produced Bert Kaempfert's recordings. This man's life would make a fascinating feature film and there's not even a biography in english about him.

Correction George, Billy Crystal’s uncle was Milt Gabler not Herbert Rehbein. Rehbein was a song writer and orchestra leader.
