The culture of my parents' generation. Watching this show and shows like Perry Mason, The Honeymooners, etc., is an education on the post-war gen, their entertainment, and the cultural interplay of the times...fascinating stuff. Truly a different world now in such a relatively short time.

Though it was originally on radio from 1944-51, Quick As A Flash on television _did_ make it past the pilot stage, airing on ABC from 1953-54 with Bobby Sherwood and later Bud Collyer (who was still doing Beat The Clock on CBS); unfortunately, this pilot for NBC is the only existing episode.

Wouldn't it be nice to walk, run, or even crawl up to a machine and dial the numbers up or down without the penalty of aging, or losing a stasis of experiencing, or being? Unfortunately these fleshly body shells we live in, AND everything empirical aroundus us just ain't cut out of creation that way. If impractical and impossible, it's OKAY to dream now and then again; right?
