To put it simply.... Bitcoin is basically a savings technology. It is decentralized. That means it's not owned by anyone. It is a network of computers that record monetary transactions . A copy of all.transactiins is kept on each node of the network. Unlike a bank, Bitcoin does not lend or gambling with your money on the stock market. So there is no counterparty risk.
