That's impressive! I had done something similar on a Teensy using integer math (stacked detuned saws, upto 64) but no filter. I reckon we can implement filters in integer as well, did not try that though.

It should, but I haven’t implemented it. It supports LCD and a rotary controller and there are many documented examples done, I just have no time to pack/upload it because of the new job.

No external libraries, just the standard Pico SDK. Everything is about to be released this weekend (schematic, pcb, framework, example synths, 3D printable box). It took me ages, but it's finally ready.

Did you see Robin Grosset's Pico synth? It doesn't use a DAC

You don't strictly need a DAC. You can always use PWM, which is the default method on all raspberries. The only issue is the sound quality. My "semi-final" PCB supports this configuration, but mainly for debugging. On the other hand, it now supports multiple DAC options.

Sounds great. I am also working on a synth on a pi pico. Mine is not so far along, I don't have any kind of filter or effects yet (mostly just have an overcomplicated oscillator with some lfos and envelope). I am curious how you approached the maths of this. Do you use fixed-point arithmetic? And if so, do you use any kind of library (e.g. CNL) or do you just shift the bits around manually?

Have you seen the online course the plug-in company Output (Exhale) was offering a while back? They hosted an extensive course teaching the fundamentals of signal processing and synthesis behind creating usable digital plugins. I think you would be great for that. Coding is compiled in C++ as well.
