I came back here to see how the wanting affordable groceries was working out for you. You must of seen Trumps disappointing words about how it's hard to lower prices because in actuality.... presidents don't have much say in how high or low companies sell products.... You must know that by now.... I wasn't disappointed in you voting Trump because of identity politics. I'm disappointed because despite the stereotype of Jews being knowledgable, you actually proved how much you didn't know. Groceries my guy? Most of your reasons, actually I dare say all had nothing to do with his policies he has planed for the future and 2 of them despite you mentioning not being a fan of identity politics was related to identity politics. Religion is part of that my guy..... This... for me at least is why I am disappointed. Most of this has to do with your identity as a Jew, and not about what is helpful to the majority of American people who aren't Jewish. You fellow Americans are about to have their health care taken away, history erased, special needs support for children affected, christianity stuffed down their throats in schools, and prices possibly go up more due to Trumps tarifs. but you're worried about Israel.... What a joke.

Rabbi Singer talks about God being both the good & the bad, which I understand as an idea, but when you're dealing with good & bad people ( ex: the enslaved trying to endure for the sake of their children, versus the slavers), do you see that as All of it being of God? I tend to think of the evil ones as being influenced by Satan, like the snake in the garden. I don't think he does. What do you think?

I just discovered the history behind Hanukkah and was so delighted. Too bad the church will reject it because it's found in the non canonical books that were taken out of the Bible. Apocrypha books... Id love to honor this tradition of Hanukkah, as a congregation, but the new testament churches are not interested. So I observe it at home with my family, sharing the story of the Macabeean Revolt and exposing the lies about Chrissmas(gift mass). Father help us get back to you!

I feel like Orthodoxy has a tendency to be more concerned about the letter of the law than the spirit of it, especially when it comes to Shabbat. Like, the whole point is to rest and spend time with family, but you end up putting in way more effort just to avoid "working." Like, I get it if you want to shut off electronics and detox and focus on your community. But you can't even drive, or have your lights on, or cook, and you drive yourself and everyone else crazy following all these arbitrary ticky tack rules. It feels like it defeats the purpose of resting at some point.

Hiya. I have a question... My, now deceased, husband's mother was a German Jew, born in the early 30's. So I'm sure you can imagine her childhood. So, he was Jewish. He was circumcized, and raised in the Jewish faith, until his mother passed away, when he was four. I am not Jewish. Our daughter is not considered Jewish. I understand why, but only in relation to religion. Isn't being Jewish an ethnicity, also? Didn't Hitler talk about nose length, and other physical characteristics, as being Jewish? Like blue eyes, blonde hair is Nordic. Red hair, Celtic. I also realise, believing anything he said is crazy, but i did/do think my husband and daughter both had/have the cutest Jewish noses. So, is my daughter in a purely ethnicity context, Jewish? Or at least 25%? I believe knowing your ethnicity is so important. Being adopted, I felt I missed out on that. I would like, for her, and my grandchildren to know theirs. I'd also like to point out, that many people told me not to tell others she was Jewish. To leave it alone, ignore, or forget about it. This disturbed me greatly. I have, and so has she, always been proud of her heritage (if she can claim it), and never hidden it. Maybe they were trying to protect her?
